This has got to be by far one of the BEST high school musical productions I've found on RU-vid. Excellent voices & acting, the orchestra plays in tune and the tempos are spot on. KUDOS to this high school. BTW, where is Boca High?

Several things: Many points for doing it without any of the "improvements" of the Midler revival and that includes doing the Gower choreography without the Warren Carlyle "improvements". Also, many points for doing a classic, rather than Newsies, or Addams Family, or Shrek or whatever. Whoever recreated the choreography deserves a big congrats as do all the kids. Gower is not easy. I see so many awful high school things on RU-vid and while any effort is to be admired, when someone goes the extra mile and uses the original staging it is to be commended, because that's how kids learn about the director/choreographers of the past, who were geniuses at what they did. I have a very long history with Dolly, starting with seeing it as a just-graduated high schooler in LA with Miss Channing and a superb company. I've seen it many times since because I was obsessed with the staging. In a full circle kind of thing, I produced the 1994 Channing revival cast album. While I thought the Midler revival was a lot of fun, the choreography adjustments were awful, I thought. Please give all these kids a big pat on the back from me.
