As a somewhat AvGeek, it looks like you took flight BR116 TPE-CTS which is usually operated by an Airbus A330-300 which has the Hello Kitty livery. I'm guessing you flew on November 29th which is the only day in the past 2 weeks that it flew as a Boeing B777-300 which doesnt have the Hello Kitty livery. Equipment swaps are somewhat common depending on maintenance issues or domino effects from other route delays, etc. Airlines usually don't compensate for equipment swaps. Sorry you didn't get to fly it! Hopefully you have an opportunity to do so in the future 🥺

I agree. I used to work for American Airlines and I know that they will either refund your airfare partially or give you credit toward another flight. But they will try to do something to make amends. Fight.💪🏻

I don’t think this was grounds for a refund or even a partial refund but my experience is that airlines are pretty responsive to inquiries via X and they may be generous and award you some miles.

Don’t expect anything from EVA. I flew with them last summer and there is no service. They don’t answer their phone lines. Ultimately their response to me was their systems are so old they cannot do anything.

So sad about the hello kitty plane 😢 buuuut, New Chitose airport is the best airport! So many things to do and eat!! They even have a Hokkaido milk bar where you can try all the different milks in Hokkaido. There’s also Royce chocolate world! You can easily spend a day just at the airport!

My flight departed from the Hello Kitty gate (C2) when I was last in Taipei a year ago. The Sanrio store was closed at that time. I'm sorry you got the short end of an equipment swap.

the webiste states as of the 20 nov they were swapping out the hello kitty planes due to maintenance :( "Due to maintenance and fleet schedule planning of our Hello Kitty Jets, the usual designated Hello Kitty flights to specific destinations, as well as in-flight Kitty-themed services, will be temporarily adjusted with immediate effect until further notice. "
