I feel like this is the version that should’ve kept. While I still think the full game is scary, this version actually scared me more. It looks more realistic, there is good jump scares, and more easier to stealth. It’s really hard to stealth in the full game, especially act 1. The full release is also more catooney, more childish looking. The neighbor was originally gonna cuss at you, which I find really funny. Although I still like the full game, i think this is the version they should’ve kept. 8/10
@@thetwintowers6714 Yup he was...you can even hear him swear during the announcement trailer of Hello Neighbor and his Swearing/cussing dialog is even in the game files still
i also get creeped out when a bug happens most likely because it is an early version of the full game and can usually happen because it didnt have enough playtesting

I never got how people were so brave to casually walk into the neighbor's house like that, especially in this version. I always wait until the neighbor goes to sleep or something, or stay in my house. Aaand I always *need* to put friendly mode on because otherwise I would get a frickin heart attack. Anyone relate or am I the only scaredy cat?
@@Julie-gr3un ye why tho alpha 2 was great, it may not have the realistic graphics like alpha one and pre alpha but its more solid then those two, not saying the're bad i love them, but alpha 2 is better. even better then the alphas after it and even better then the full game too
I honestly think that in a scenario like this, the one who could be more scared would be the neighbor. Imagine seeing an unknown person on your house when you less wait for it, sneaking there.
@@rapappathepepper3996 and the worst thing now he just spams random cameras and bear traps everywhere. They removed the AI where he learns where you come from and puts traps there. I wouldn't be surprised if the full version was rushed just to get the full version out. It doesn't even feel like a full version its a buggy mess
To be Honest, Alpha 1 is My Favorite Build. Reason's: Is more Realistic Art Style, Was F to Pick Up instead of having to Hold E (Like Why Hold E Instead of Simply Press F????), Has a Awesome Ending w/ out the Basement, Has many Glitch in a Good way, and more!
The full game should of been like this. The pre alpha was dark and had a unnerving atmosphere and the neighbor (despite his broken AI) was scary as well. The full game doesnt feel like a horror game at all. The neighbor is just dumb and the game looks bright and cartoonish. The pre-alpha looked more realistic and better and the scary thing was that there is no escaping the neighbor even when you discover his basement of nothing. He still goes to your house. Your trapped with him. Its not like that in the full game. And the full game is even buggier. Like you can go flying after just by running into a box. The full game was such a disappointment and it just feels rushed
Aaaah, pre-alpha, when the game was actually good and not a cartoon. I'm not saying that I don't like the new game, because I like the puzzles, but I gotta agree, pre-alpha, alpha 1, alpha 2 and, I guess, alpha 3 were better and more realistic and had a better concept. I do like their creativity on the puzzles in act 2 and act 3. Oh, and act 2 has also got to be in my favourite versions list.
I pretty much think that Pre-Alpha is scarier than Alpha 3. Alpha 3 is the version of the game where the cartoony style was mixed up with the realistic style
I feel like this is all Game Theory's fault. His audience is mostly kids and once he covered this game, the developers changed everything about what the game was before and made it kid-friendly.
Don't blame this on Matthew. Tinybuild wanted to be FNAF and they threw everything out just so they could *try* to have the world-building of FNAF. They wanted money, exposure is what they wanted, that over a good, polished, running game.

I liked more the pre-alpha less cartoonish with that creepy atmosphere from 50s not a strange house with a full city inside it like trains prisons markets its strange and weird the neighbour looked more scary learning from your moves just look at the beds from alpha 1 and pre alpha looks dificult to find someone there now look at the alpha 2 beds they are to large and they gonna discover you inmeadetly
I always said this when this came out Pre alpha and alpha 1 were the best versions of hello neighbor and honestly it’s peak they stated doing to much to quick they should’ve just kept it simple
Ok re 7 is more harder and ethan is stronger than the player in hello neighbor cuz the neighbor just grabs that it and ethan survives getting sliced lol
If you don’t know how to get pre alpha you have to go to Hello neighbors website which is Hello neighbor game click on Hello neighbor then click on download free alpha demo And fill out the stuff and it will give you the alpha key so you can download pre alpha and alpha 1
Hi, I Need Help. I Was Playing Hello Neighbor pre alpha And The Neighbors walk was glitching. It was fine when he was running, and was fine when he's watching tv, but the walking animation is glitching out my game and it's animation stutters alot. Any way to fix it?
I miss this game and I kind of hate the new version with the cartoonish style weird binoculars cars flashlights and the new chase music is just not scary when the old one was realistic the neighbor was scary the pictures where better than the new random art and pictures and the chase with no warning that the neighbor is near you used and still scares the SHIT out of me and I loved the old ones better
