I can't believe this is on video. I was at this concert! I still live in the twin cities and only live about 20 minutes from First Avenue. Yes, it's the same venue where Prince filmed Purple Rain. I think I was about 17 yearsl old when I went to this concert. I tried to find myself in the video, but I could see anything. Oh well.

Okay, just to clear things: I like the present Helloween and I think they are a great band. But oh my god, they were unstoppable in the Keeper-days! It's really sad they couldn't keep this lineup because they really had it all there. Kiske with the voice ressembling Geoff Tate 😱 Ingo's fluent machine drums, Marcus' melodic bass and, most importantly, Helloween had Kai Hansen & Michael Weikath who together formed a fantastic partnership - Both guitarwise and on the songwriting. Helloween had Iron Maiden-potential back then. Such incredible talent!
Hell YES. You'll really never hear better guitar solos than the ones on "I'm Alive", "Halloween", or the intro to "Twilight of the Gods", and that's just for starters! A legendary band!
I was 24 years old when i saw this originally on mtv's headbangers ball in '87. It looks as good today as it did then. 1 week later i saw the same three bands play live in Rock Island, Illinois. They played the exact same song lineups. It was so awesome !

I was 13 when Keeper I came out. Us kids were jacked when MTV played the full version of Halloween IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY. Those were such good days man. The best.
I was actually at this concert, 1st Ave isn't a big place, it was packed and MTV filmed that night, the pit was harrowing and fun at the same time... had an awesome time... Grim Reaper, Helloween, and Armored Saint got to watch it on my birthday a few days later, on the actual Halloween airing on MTVs Headbangers Ball
Sorry for the year old reply, No they were not, it was just the three I mentioned. Grim Reaper headlined (Don't Fear the Reaper was played at the outset, even though not their song - Blue Oyster Cult, but appropriate), Helloween, and then Armored Saint, being the less known but still hard as hell... One of my best memories as I don't like to go to these things as I have a natural aversion to crowds ... The mosh pit was a personal nightmare and catharsis (playing with others has never been my thing by and large), I just won't do it any more as I am old and can probably get hurt easily ... 48, tried it 3 years ago and bailed, not my thing anymore at all, getting shoved makes me want to lash out, badly, so not the venue for that as this is violent, but cool at the same time, no-one wants to get hurt and I will thrash/lash out at that intrusion. Not my space anymore at all, for the betterment of the group ... Still was a blast at 17 and glad I did it, got in there and there were two guys who were apparent skin-heads who tied of their torn off T's like long hair and head-banged with the rest of us and were the best at picking people up who fell in the mosh! That was never shown on the MTV video, but they were there most of the time and front and center in the pit. Good guys in the fray, have no idea what their idealism was, but it didn't seem to matter at the time. Great show and got to watch it at my birthday party! (It wasn't broadcast live, but was played on Halloween night).. Was able to pick out a few people in my group here and there, but I never made the screen myself as I was more often off in the back of the crowd. DB @@ryanbrown3004
I was there when this was filmed. I was a freshman in HS. Halloween were absolutely magical. It doesn’t quite transfer through the video but they had the best sound quality of any concert I’ve ever been to. So epic. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I seen this tour here in Dallas the same night MTV aired this on Halloween.Recorded the whole show while I was at the show.Met all these guys a few times in 87/88.Kool dudes and the Rock.

El actual Helloween es grande, asombroso, pero esto es epico, enigmatico, inigualable, fue una formula perfectamente diseñada, una maquina perfecta para fabricar el mejor power metal, no hacia falta nada, se seguir, actualmente jugarian las grandes ligas, junto a Maiden, Judas y demas grande Helloween
I saw Armored Saint early 90's. One of the heaviest guitar tones I've ever heard live. In your face!! Great band that never got the following it deserved...💚🎸
I was at this show, I remember watching the video and seeing me & my best friend Jesse (RIP) as the camera panned the crowd, I don't remember what part of the show and it was super quick, I'd love to find that millisecond on this video...Thanks for posting this.

Fue más Weikath el que impuso en la banda el sonido que sería el Power, Kai era más de Speed Metal, con escuchar Gamma Ray se nota, suena más al Walls of the Jericho que a los Keepers y lo que vino después con Deris
wow I had keeper of the seven key's 1 and 2 on cassette back in the day's and damn this band was good live!! now i wish I seen them live and in person.
