Kiske recorded this album when he was 20 years old, to me he has one of the best voices of metal, and Ingo Schwichtenberg on drums ( R.I.P.). And man, you must listen the anthem of power metal wich is ´´Eagle Fly Free´´.

I have been a Helloween fan since 1990. Have all the music they have released and I think you are on point with your analyz. Kiske is like the german Dickinson ned all 3 are good its just up to taste of the listener. Love your Helloween journey. Keep it up You have alot of amazing music left 😊

Got excited when I saw Helloween, I had a cpl of their albums, but they weren't my 'go to' albums, so I don't remember many of the songs. I was hoping to hear the song "Halloween," that was my fav back in the day. I think I'll have to go back down that Helloween road again & revist the old jams. Thanks as always for getting me back into the music that had a huge impact on my life. 🤘😎

Some of my favorite Helloween songs are Laudate Dominum, Push, Eagle Fly Free, Keeper of the Seven Keys, Halloween, Mr Torture, and Just a Little Sign, just to name a few!!!!

This is the song, or one of the very few songs that I would pick for an introduction to Helloween. I see many people suggest the epic songs whenever a Helloween reaction comes up, but I really think this grabs you right out of the gate with the aggressive full throttle sound and soaring vocals. This song is a great example of why I can't put anyone else but Kiske at the top for this band. It's really a shame he never did a studio version of Ride the Sky, there is only the live version and the sound is just too poor to enjoy on a normal playlist. Love this song though, great pick.

You should listen mission motherland from helloween. It' just an masterpiece . Deris is one of best singers

There is a guy that sings lots of metal songs in the style of Bruce Dickinson. Raphael Mendes, He does some Helloween , check it out and you’ll see they are quite a bit different.

T!! I saw these guys on the Headbangers Ball Tour in like '89 or '90 with Anthrax and a band you have yet to react to - EXODUS! Exodus is another Bay Area band like Death Angel and Testament (Kirk Hammet was in Exodus before Metallica). Check out Deranged by Exodus.. you'll love it.

I love how they do a little quote of Rainbow's Kill the King at the end of the guitar solo. Speaking of influences... Hell, look up Rainbow- Kill the King because it's amazing too.

Can you react to Angra - "Carry on"?, it is a power metal band from Brasil, Kiko Loureiro from Megadeth was from that band.

I love Helloween, but I only own like 3 or 4 albums... I gotta up my game. Great tune here... Of course Seven Keys are classic albums, along w/Jericho IMO. I gotta hit eBay... Peace!!!

for sure Helloween was influenced by Judas priest, Iron Maiden, UFO, Running Wild, Accept, The scorpions, even older bands at that time like Deep purple and Led zeppelin had a influence on the Helloween guys. Kai Hansen was en is a huge judas priest freak and so are the other Helloween members, they even toured wih maiden and even in later years they were on festivals with maiden. Kai hansen his band Gamma ray was the support act for Iron Maiden during some of their tours

These two albums are absolutely genial, on my top 10 album list. Many have been indluensed by Helloween but tjhe only album from another group in this style i think is at the same level is Scanner - Hypertrace. Science Fiction tema and the album sounds like an album placed between Hellowens - Walls Of Jericho and Keeper Of The Seven Keys 1 and 2. Helloween influenced the whole Power Metal genre that came in 90-ties. Helloween with Kiske was in the later half of the 80-ties. If Kiske and Kai Hansen had stayed and Kiske had not wanted to play more soft music I believe that they would have been much more known today. I was really disapointed by yhe two albums after "Keeper Of The Seven Keys 2" and also with Deris who is a great singer but not as a substitute fro Kiske. I liked Deris more in "Pink Cream 69". Not as Helloween with Kiske but it's like comparing a Rolls Royce to a fine ordinary car I personally think.

React to Helloween How many tears, vocals: Kai Hansen

So I'll put up 2 replies for this, I think you're really getting the musical feel and understanding in these songs and metal in general, but you're not quite there yet. I see the maiden comparison too much, not just on reaction stuff but straight music videos on YT. Not a knock on you or anyone else, just an observation that seems to stem from being new to the genre or just hearing a "same-ness" in the music between bands. For me, there are only a few bands I have heard that have a maiden sound coming through the music or a Bruce like vocals. Helloween has a very unique sound and I have rarely heard another band with a sound like these early albums ( music and vocal ).

You missed the best of Helloween by not listening to their first few albums. That’s what made them legendary. Michael Kiske is legendary, as is Kai lead singing on the first. Damn! Hope you realize your mistake one day.

The whole Power Metal genre is influenced by Helloween.
