So the reason Frank got back was because when the Cenobites exploded him the first time around they forgot to collect his heart. Which left it dormant untill it got some blood to get it pumping. Now the bloody matress in Helraiser 2 shouldn't have happened since Pinhead got upset when they realised they left bits of frank lying around. It was never a family thing but more of a don't leave evidence thing but then they kept leaving evidence all over the place all the time after Hellraiser. I mean i don't see the Cenobites clean up anything in 3 when they go to town on everyone.

Julia really holds this movie up together. I know everyone loves Pinhead and all but Julia really held it up for the most part, acting wise, story wise, and she even comes back in the sequel. Time to give Julia her Flowers

Very faithful to the book I read the book afterwards and it was piece by piece the same thing, no changes like they did with Jaws or Jurassic Park Its also a quick read

I read the book in the mid 90's and as I recall I remember it went along with the movie almost as if it was the script and pulled from Books of Blood Anyway check out Clive Barkers The Thieif Of Always another short story thats a fun fast read if you haven't already . Also MASK novel (not to be confused with Jim Carres The Mask) that is faithful to the movie.

I watched hellraiser for the first time like a year or 2 ago. It's a slow burn BUT... THE scene. The skeleton forming out of the floor... is one of the absolute greatest effects I've ever seen in a film

The removal man was Oliver Parker who would go on to play Peloquin in Nightbreed and also to direct a number of movies including the portrait of Dorian Gray. Love your show btw and the great banter.

If we get forced to see another remake reboot requel, I would kill to see Rebecca Ferguson play Julia tbh. I feel like she's perfect for that role especially considering what they originally wanted to do with Julia in part 2 and onward.

It took me forever to see "Hellraiser" and "Hellbound", but I really liked Kirsty, her story, how she saved Tiffany, and the look and music. I'm SO glad that Clive Barker changed her character from the book, because I like her so much better as the villain's stepdaughter trying to save her dad's soul and she didn't MEAN to summon the Cenobites--if she was the 'seeking revenge on those who bully her' type, I would hate her:):) I read up on the whole series and never bothered with the others except her scenes in "Hellseeker" (I did NOT want to watch Trevor) and I saw that comic where she became a Cenobite! If Nancy's dead sibling was a sister, seriously, she would be it--and it definitely helps that Ashley Laurence seems like a combination of John Saxon and Ronee Blakely;)

Frank brought out the freak flag in Julia. "I'm very happy." "Oh sure you are.". The excitement, the danger of taboo sexuality are the main themes.

The audio book read by Clive Barker is fantastic and I like the movie as well. It definitely is a movies that has dialogue clearly written by a novelist. Spooky stuff!

You could buy monkeys in pet stores back in the eighties. Also, I used to own an aquarium store. Sharks are difficult to keep, but are common in stores that sell saltwater fish. Not hammerheads or anything. Just little dogfish and the occasional Cat Shark. Small stuff.

The homeless guy is called an Eremite. It's a type of demon that guards the boxes and gives them to people. Leviathans Emissaries on earth. (I'm sure others probably told you this already maybe) Check out the "Clive Barker's Hellraiser" publsihed by boom comics. Barker considers them the real sequels to hellraisers past Hellbound. they are pretty great. Also check out the scarlet gospels if you havn't read that.

I like Hellraiser 1, 2, and 4. Three is a big meh, but better than the rest that's came out. Didn't really like the new one, but thought that one was better than the movies that went straight to home video.

If you think you were scarred by this movie, this was the first sex scene I saw in a movie as a kid. God knows how that damage manifests to this very day. Still was a cool scary movie as a kid though.

I always just assumed this movie was in Europe because of Julia alone and it's clearly Europe, like it's so obviously Europe the only thing that would make the location more European would be a scene with the characters standing between the Eiffel tower, big Ben and the colosseum while shaking hands with Jack the ripper standing next to a leprechaun! the homeless guys face is in the obelisk thingy that comes out of the matress at the end of the second one!

A few notes: 1. Julia clearly hated Larry and was settling for him. Hence her fling with Frank. 2. Frank and Julia's fling was much more salacious and had a lot of cuts to it in the released version. It was not as "vanilla" as you might think. 3. Frank is an example of a Sigma male, though less James Bond and more Hunter Biden. Once you understand that, Frank's character and allure become much more comprehensible.
