So because of Tamara's video, i sat through all 9 Movies and here's what i have to say, 1-4 are good to decent 5 and 8 are watchable. 1-4 mainly because they seem to try to keep a cohesive story and it works in my opinion as a nice quadrology, but after that they just went off the rails.

Hellraiser 1 and 2 are the only Hellraiser films that exist to me. The other ones, besides 3 and MAYBE Bloodline, were actually other movie scripts that they just threw Pinhead into to get picked up to film.

As a big fan of the first two Hellraisers, I always feared I was missing out not watching the others. Thanks for making this video. I’m now really glad I didn’t waste my time on the others.

Hellraiser 3 is so underrated. Back in 1992 audiences loved it. My mom took me to see when i was 8 in the cinema.

Hellbound 3 pinhead lost his human side the one who knows about pain and pleasure, so pinhead is just pure instinct, he creates the b team of cenobites he hasnt got the creativity of the human. thats why he created 2nd class.. the girl cenobite can now dream they are not fleshed out as pinhead created them in this world, and not leviathan approved.. they are cheap knock offs.. I like the 3rd yes it is cheesy. but i like it.. the 4th was ok.... thats what i got out of it and i remember seeing upto 4 when they came out. the first is a classic the 2nd runs as a part 2 of the first story a sort of tune in next time.. a direct semi direct continuation, the 3rd is what happens when the human side of pinhead is free and the evil pain/insane side is free to do what he wants

Good picking up how the series abandons its initial concept very quickly. By HELL ON EARTH, the Cenobites go from being amoral entities obsessed only with pursuing mind-blowing sensory experiences, to a circle of Goth-fashioned demons who are trying to punish the wicked or invade the Earth or whatever. The original Cenobites didn't give a damn about Earth and were content to stay in their other dimension, only experimenting on people who willingly joined them. It was a much more original and interesting concept in the first two films.

Weird rabbit hole today: 1. Pinhead was introduced into the game Dead by Daylight 2. Was looking up the movies again 3. Saw your Nightmarathon (which I hadn't seen yet for some odd reason, despite loving these every Halloween) Every time I watch one of your videos Jake, I realize how well connected you are with RU-vidrs. It was cool to see Tamara in this one.

Yesss I look forward to these every year. This is the first Nightmarathon where I'm not familiar with the franchise, but it doesn't sound like I'm missing too much in this case haha. I think Halloween is still the best to sit through. 3 is weird and the one with the cult and Paul Rudd is pretty terrible but I think all the other ones are still reasonably entertaining. Friday the 13th is good for marathoning as well. Chucky gets really bad, but it sounds like Hellraiser is just boring for a large chunk of the franchise, so I'm not sure which one I'd dislike more. I look forward to seeing what you do next year now that you're kind of out of famous slasher movie franchises. Maybe Exorcist? Or some sort of Stephen King marathon? Paranormal Activity is a big one but I wouldn't want to subject you to sitting through that boring set of movies. Either way, thanks for the interesting video!

Despite the fact that your opinions differ from mine regarding some of the Hellraiser films, this was still interesting and fun to watch. Here are some franchises of films I would recommend for the next "NIGHTMARATHON": The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Alien, Scream, Final Destination, Hannibal Lecter films, Paranormal Activity, Phantasm (which is a great series), Leprechaun, Children of the Corn, Amityville Horror (ones that actually matter), and Puppet Master. Some of the movies in these franchises, especially Leprechaun, Children of the Corn, and Amityville Horror are beyond bad so much that they make most of the Hellraiser films look like classics. It would be funny to see your reaction to them.

I saw the title and I was like " OH HELL YA". Hellraiser has to be my top "slasher" movie franchises. I read the books and comics, which further opens the world of it all. It doesnt just start and stop as a killer on the loose, its much deeper and flavorful than one could think. I paused it shortly into the second movie so Ill continue and see what you think. Also if Im not mistaken, Clive had only touched 1 & 2, as the rest were made under someone elses mind.

I don't think Barker came close to replicating the effect of the The Hellbound Heart, some of the changes he made to his own story are just baffling to me. Considering the book is so short and written in such a way that a film would have pretty much already had perfect sequencing had he adapted it straight, it just doesn't make sense why he did some of the things he did. To be honest I'd actually like to see him have another crack at it. I do like the first film for what it is so I wouldn't think of it as a remake of Hellrasier, just another separate adaptation of The Hellbound Heart. He could even call it that so it has it's own identity as a film. I just love that book so much. Had fun watching the Nightmarathon video as always!

I could do the first five. 1&2 are legit good movies, 3&4 are campy horror fun, and I enjoy 5 for what it is, although I'll agree it would've been better if it wasn't made into a Hellraiser movie. The rest are just garbage.

Garrett Knowles I feel like the Alien movies aren't really horror or halloweeny after the first one. I forgot all about Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but that's probably the right way to go next year. Universal Monster movies would be interesting too, especially if Universal still goes forward with their Dark Universe plans, since it would provide an interesting point of comparison.

Stronger men and women than I. The only movie I have seen in this franchise was the first, and after having watched it I gave up on the movies. To me, it felt like a "Tales From the Crypt" movie. Nothing special about it, though it wasn't bad, it wasn't memorable. Your strength is great to have sat through all of those. I bow...

Only one and two are worth watching, the rest is bullshit, they were only made because the studio was forced to keep making sequels in order to keep the rights to the movie.
