I used to do video editing for a hobby and I know how much work goes into a video. You really put in a lot of work in your shots and while painting a helmet. I used to video tape myself painting my artwork and I only had one shot and it still was a lot of work in editing. Props to you.

I really do appreciate these videos Patrice. I still marvel at how you layer up colours and work out the order, whilst at the same time, keeping the layers to a minimum. 🙌

Absolutely love your work👌 can I ask, how did you make your pencil stand/holder to mark perfectly straight lines? Thanks
@helmetgurucanada

With the help of machinist friends and some scrap parts. Sorry I can't be of any more help.

Great videos, thanks for sharing! Quick question about the pencil lines you’re using for the tape layout. Do you mask next to them and then erase them? How do you deal with the reference lines? Thx

Another really quick question. For helmets that have vent attachments and wings on them, do you paint and clear those separately or do you reattach them before clear? How do you make the paint pattern transfer to them seemlessly when they aren’t attached to the helmet? Thanks, love the blogs!!

Can I ask what vinyl film you use for your stencils? I just bought some Oramask® 810, but was wondering your thoughts on what you use. Awesome video.

The yellow masking vinyl is RTape ProGrade paintmask. I also use the Oramask 810 from time to time.

Hi, what are you using to transfer the wording and the logos at the beginning? Good work!
@helmetgurucanada
@helmetgurucanada 3 года назад
It's a transfer tape I found years ago from a guy in Toronto. I can't get it anymore. I am still running on the rolls I bought at that time. If you can find it somewhere, let me know. It says ABBA TAPE V6 on the roll.

@@helmetgurucanada I got some complex illustration that I designed in Adobe Illustrator with a lot of details that need to be cut. I was thinking if I could print that picture out and just stick it to the helmet. Is that how your transfer tape works? Any suggestions on the material I can use? Thank you for your time and reply! I know it’s a lot of work!

I am not sure about what you are talking about. You want to print a pattern and stick it? Like a car wrap? You need a vinyl printer for that, it's a whole other game.

You should hire a camera man. Less work for you, better quality videos. You need someone only to take the shots, and still you can do the editing work. Finding the right angles, manual focusing, moving the lights etc. But I like your videos anyway.
