A westbound freight train travels along Helmstetter's Curve, on the Western Maryland Railway main line west of Cumberland. Helmstetter's barn appears in the foreground. Next are scenes of the west end of the Cumberland Narrows with B&O main line in the distance. Filmed in 1952 by Alexander J. Mozzer on silent regular 8mm film. Posted by son John A. Mozzer.

Had the WM gone to N&W instead of C&O/B&O, this line probably would still be in service as a through route today.

I think Norfolk Southern will more than likely purchase CSX Transportation from CSX Corporation and they may get rid of the parallel C&O mainline or they may sell it to Genesee & Wyoming Corporation.
