This movie was found at the end of another film while it has nothing to do with it. During filmchecks preparing for transfer we found this clip. It show Helmut Zacharias and his Magic Violin playing When the white lilacs bloom again. A short kind of videoclip from the time there was no MTV and probably played in a theater before the mainmovie was started.

I think this picture was made for american television with 30 frames per second (NTSC). Filmcollectief transfered it with 25 fr/sec? Helmut was in the US-Top ten with this song for some weeks in 1956.

I heard this song several times on the radio many years ago. In this film the music sounds the same as on the radio. The sound of his violin was different from the most used violins and when I'm not mistaken his violin was larger. This version from this song is not slower than I version from 1928 sung by Richard Tauber I listened to just before I wrote my reaction on your comment.

Il violino di helmut ha dimensioni normali. Il fatto che il suo suono sia diverso dagli altri dipende dal suo vibrato, da come pioggia l'archetto sulle corde ma soprattutto dal suo spirito, dalla sua anima e dalle migliori doti di arrangiatore. arrangiatore
