I have severe health anxiety/somatic symptom disorder, there were times that I was so sure I was going to drop dead of a heart attack but instead of having another ER visit where they give you ativan and send you home, I just sat in my car in the hospital parking lot with this on. I've learned now that when it gets really bad, I can just sit in the hospital parking lot in my car. I've needed to do it less and less. When it happens I try to park farther from the entrance. I went from needing multiple trips to sit in the ER parking lot a day in summer 2019, to maybe 1 or 2 a month.

I did exactly that almost a year ago!! I thought I was finally really close to sudden death. I drove to the hospital, with a racing heart, dizzy head, blurry vision, figeting like crazy and all of that s**t, just hoping Id reach the hospital "before" I die...finally stopped in the parking lot and listened to that...and felt well again after some 20 mins... I know, I repeated what u just wrote, but I just felt I had to share it as I juste rode out a mild panic wave...everything is going to be okay at last....

This makes me cry tears of joy that you did this! You are amazing! Way to be kind and gentle with yourself and take your time easing your discomfort during the attacks. Great work!

The panic attack is your super power! Don't be afraid of it! Just let it come! The only bad thing is the sensation of fear which is an evolutionary mechanism to make you run away. When you get the next panic attack, ignore the fear and impulse to do something! Just let is peak and go away like a wave. Ever driven a car or motorcycle with a very high speed? Did you focus on the adrenaline or the road? Do this experiment with your car/bike.

Just had my very first panic attack today. Didn't know what it was, thought I was going to drop dead, called 911, and after several hours and tests later it was all chalked up to panic attacks. I couldn't believe it - I had no idea they were THAT awful. And to make matters worse, I continued having several smaller waves for the rest of the day. Your video has already helped me feel better and I'm so thankful for this resource! Definitely saving this video and will continue to use - thank you!!

I had my first one about a week ago. I know exactly what you mean when you say you had no idea just how awful and terrible they actually are. Like SERIOUSLY. REALLY. Complete torment. I never knew just how physical anxiety could manifest in the body until I experienced it myself.

@@alysarae6141 i feel like 2020 will be the year for alot of peoples first panic attacks lol but I do hope you're finding some kind of relief! I started having at least one a week after I wrote that last comment - these videos helped but getting out ahead of my panic attacks with meditation (look up Dr. Joe Dispenza) has been the most helpful. Since I started meditating I haven't had another panic attack 🤞 My doctor also said I was low on magnesium and Vitamin D so I started taking supplements for those - may be worth a shot!

Wow, I’m getting them too. Is normal to have them in waves? I get a huge one just now and then little on and off waves for hours. I shook so bad for a long time I was exhausted from shaking nonstop. I guess that is normal response from the body being tired of shaking. Feeling heavy and weighted down after the attack....feeling drained and washed out. I hope it gets better for you, it scary but also they aren’t life threatening (hard to believe right) but I will get through this.

This video helps so much. Been suffering from panic attacks for the last 12 years. Nothing worse than being claustrophobic in your own mind. Just finished my second attack today. I live in Los Angeles. It happens sometimes while on the freeway. When that happens I just start yelling “Make it worse,” to myself. Before I know it the attack subsides. Again, thank you for such a nice video. The calming voice is also especially helpful.

today was the first time that i was able to tell my anxiety and panic to get worse out loud. i was always too anxious in the past, too sure that saying it out loud would actually make it happen and make me sick. but it's working and i started crying during the countdown because i just felt this flood of relief. i don't think i'm magically cured, i've had panic disorder for over a decade now, but this feels like a good shift. i don't feel like i'm ignoring the symptoms anymore in the hopes that it'll all go away.

25 years later I’m still having them. I’ve done everything. I have to say that, the Dare response, is by far the best approach I’ve ever taken. This particular video is especially helpful. I do take medication, but using this method has limited me taken it. As a man, it was hard to become comfortable enough to share my problem with others; especially other men. If we would go out, it was embarrassing to have to leave or make an excuse to walk away. Now, I’m open with it and let my friends help me or take my mind off the situation. Of course some are worse than others, but you deal with them as they come. Hats off to the entire Dare team, especially Barry, who has become a close friend, or should I say voice, that I can lean on when times get rough.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this video. I listen to it when I think I'm going to drop dead or develop a serious illness that lands me in the ER. For me, this video is effective at making me acknowledge the fact that there is nothing wrong with my body/situation, but rather that I'm having a physiological response that is there to protect me. Personally, there is no worse sensation/experience than a panic attack, and this video brings me back to reality. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Thankyou so much for this video. For your time for people who are going through difficult times. It's been a year since I started having panic attacks. I took some meds, but they weren't helpful. People around me were confused and worried on how to help me during the attacks, while some did no good even been close to me. When situations around me makes my anxiety exceed my limit, it becomes hella scary. Two times now my family has had to rush me to the hospital as the panic got severe. I found this video last night, as due to a difficult time I have been on the point of getting a panic attack. I listened this video and in a matter of seconds I started to drift to sleep letting out all anxiety. And in 7 or 8 mins. I fell into deep sleep. Since months I have been having problems to drift to sleep. If I switch off all devices before going to sleep, my anxiety starts bringing up thoughts that makes it unbearable to go to sleep. Due to which I had to use my phone long enough to get enough tired that my brain won't be able to get anxious and just go to sleep. This video is so helpful. I hope it helps more people, especoally when anyone gets panicked when they are completely alone or out of the house.

This video helped a bit, which is more than most things have helped, but I've had to watch it three times in just the last hour. What do I do when the triggers are outside of my control and they won't go away for a few months or ever. I can't have this going on repeat for that long.

It’s ok to begin doing it in your comfort zone, call upon your anxious feelings and try to get it as bad as possible whilst within your “safe zone”. Each time you do it; it will become easier and eventually the sensations will no longer be as dominant

My panic attacks begin with vertigo and end in me passing out, and it lasts a lot longer than 21 seconds. I try to think it out, walk it off, talk to my friend. It still ends with me passing out. The resulting elevated anxiety persists for weeks afterward. It's hell.

For me usually when I get a panic attack I also get pretty bad nausea.. but the thing is I don’t know if I was feeling nauseous first which then triggered the panic because of the uncomfortable sensation of nausea OR the panic attack caused the nausea..😵‍💫😵‍💫 But I usually feel much better after I vomit, and the panic slowly dies down, I’m not sure why.. 🥲 I’m really proud of myself for not succumbing to the anxiety medication. Whenever I’m going through a panic attack I ALWAYS make sure I have the medication within arms reach JUST IN CASE but every time I’ve been able to resist using it and when I finally conquer the panic all on my own I feel so proud of myself and so much stronger, like I don’t need any drug’s help and I’m completely capable of getting through it with nothing but myself. Anyway I ranted here but I’m currently slowly recovering from an attack so I guess I’m trying to engage with something nowww while I’m waiting for it to completely die down. I’m just so grateful these videos exist and the comments exist so that I can see I’m not alone and we’re not alone and this is normal and it’s fine and we’re all gonna be okay. It makes me appreciate the existence of the internet, because without the internet we’d all feel so alone. That makes me wonder what people in the olden days did when they got panic attacks.. but maybe back then anxiety wasn’t as prevalent as it is in this day and age… Sometimes I wish I lived in simpler times. Wow now I really ranted but I THINK IM OKAY NOW AND I AM FREAKIN HAPPY that I KNOW I CAN DO THIS ON MY OWN!! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE
