Put a bar like a strut brace across the engine bay with padding underneath each end to protect the inner wing and jack up engine to release the pressure on the mounts then ratchet strap the engine to the bar to keep it suspended then try the speed bump to eliminate the mounts.
I would find a bump that you can drive over on one side at a time. See if it does it regardless of which side is going over the bump. If it does it both sides, I would check all the exhaust bolts. Especially near the front. It sounds like a smaller part. Not like motor or trans. Maybe more like anti roll bar, or some mounting bracket. -Simon Fisher
A little tip for you: Use wooden chop sticks to remove the airbag, they will not scratch your steering wheel and trim, and also use a picture of the wheel without the airbag to work our where to poke the sticks :)
It will be your scuttle plate - its the thread catching on the thin metal plate - you would think the front shock was going to break it was so bad on mine - let me know how you get on. Dealer was clueless and I spoke my friends at Dunlop Motorsport in Bangor - N Ireland and they sorted it - boom
I'd take that lower torque mount out and see if the bushing has split. It's a quick job. And while you're taking it out you might as well swap it for the Cusco torque mount instead to improve the shifting.
Probably not your case, but on my old Toyota Rav4 front brake calipers was the culprit, guide pins wore out, easy to chceck, if you brake during the bump there is no noise.
Did you reuse the bolts for the subframe? If so sometimes they are stretch bolts and should be replaced if undone. My TTS was knocking and turned out it was the subframe bolts were reused and causing the knocking. Love the content hope to see more frequent videos!
Just remember the drivers air bag was calibrated and set up for the oem seat height and steering position. But hopefully it won’t ever go off. All those repair issues would play havoc with my OCD but fine as a track car I suppose.
Try checking something less obvious like the os headlight hasn’t got a broken fixing tab. Can’t be suspension if so many professionals have not found it
Engine mount? I had one crack after a car was damage repaired. That made a knocking that was hard to find. It was knocking over bumps, as it got worse it did it under hard acceleration
That noise sounds like engine mount under the coolant res. Either it got cracked on the casing or the rubber is damaged causing the engine to jump when going over bumps. Only reasonable explanation i can think of.
Hi mate I repair crash damaged cars, or my business does anyway. Are you sure you haven’t dropped something down scuttle or light or bumper? You’d be surprised at how many times that happens and the knock is a bolt somewhere. Obviously others have said check engine mounts and I agree but I wouldn’t expect these to go how this is happening if I’m honest. Sometimes it’s best to start taking things off and just examine everything, doesn’t cost you anything to do that. Did you use new bolts when you did all suspension work? Realigning that bonnet should be 10 mins work too just adjust at the top, shouldmt move once you put it on if it’s tight enough. Is the catch all ok, it’s not that making the noise? Don’t wear harness on the street mate hans should always be worn with harness as you’ll snap your neck if not. Have you got some tuition booked so this doesn’t happen again? Most investment you can make is in yourself bud, nothing embarrassing about that. To edit this have you put them drop links on the right way?😅
Unsurprisingly. Toyota do not cater for a bald bloke in a back street garage and I love the steering wheel in the wrong place excuse for crashing. Get your arms lengthened.
@@kevinburke8361theres a reason why most people who bought into the hype, sold the car 6 months later and why theres so many on autotrader. They just arent worth the money, but will eventually be a good second hand buy. But 40k for a yaris? Lol.
He doesn’t need to be faster it’s a great car for him to be introduced to track driving in. Rear wheel drive would have him off in 2 seconds no offence mate although taking some drifting lessons wouldn’t be a bad idea at all due to how he lost the car.
You are one of those infuriating people who always wants to go cheap Penny wise pound foolish as they say! You’ve cheaped out on the repairs and are now disappointed with the final results. Love the content but just frustrating to watch lol
Hint : The mirror can be risen a wee bit further by filing a small gap at the top of the knuckle ball of the mirror. Hence, in conjuction with the riser, the mirror can be adjusted to it's highest position right up to the limit of touching the plastic cover. Knock : Could be the engine mounts rubber has cracked. There have been a few comments on the GR Forum about this issue. Powerflex sell PU inserts to strengthen the OEM Engine rubber mounts. Ref PFF76-920, 923 & 925. NIce crocs .... 😂

just like evilgt at the start when the original channel started, when i was like your 30th subscriber!! keep them coming!
Engine/gearbox mounts, failing joints, drop link or top mount but if they check the shocks mounts then then start looking at the others that's mentioned
the 'wavey' panel, someone pointed out to me their wavey panel and said they all have them (GR's) so i checked mine and i wish i fuckin hadn't. sticks out like a sore thumb now! Oh and your mirror riser rises the mirror by 6mm, all of them are a rip off mod.

Lee that knocking noise is 100% coming from the steering column hitting the firewall over bumps id put £50 on it
