For someone that doesn’t view the world at the same speed as a fly, the Toyota seems the more fun/sensible track car in comparison to the Porsche. Great video looked like lots of fun!

We're about the same age and this is the first car in a long time that actually reminds me of the 80's hot hatches looks awesome.

Regarding the Nurburgring Lee. It’s all about track knowledge. Forget the speed and lap times until you know what’s coming up next. Best advice is get an instructor to sit in the car with you for several laps. That will give you invaluable information and confidence. Great video! 👍

Great road trip, did one similar back in 2010, track day at Spa then a week at the Ring but I was on my bike. Spa is an amazing circuit, will never forget those laps, as you said about the ring the computer games just never get across the elevation changes. Yaris seems to be a nifty little tool for these track uses :)

I run Nankang NS2R tyres. I dont have a problem with the seats on the track. I run a GPF delete and a C-Tec exhaust and have passed the 98db tests. I also fitted carbon shims to the brakes to save the dust seals in the calipers.

More interesting than watching the other lads patching up a 30 year old Carlton…. Decent video 👍🏻👍🏻

Fantastic video. Takes a lot to keep my attention for more than two seconds but I watched the entire thing! Sport mode is my favourite to be in and expert with the traction control is a nice half way mode to be in too. Thanks

You might try to change the torque mounts to improve the gear change. I got Powerflex inserts for the torque mount, gearbox mount and engine mount. Really improved the gearchange and stopped the engine from moving about a lot. There are other better solutions out there but these were quite good value. I have the Litchfield Nitrons on mine. Works fantastic on the road though I haven't tried it on the track. Enjoy the car mate!

I was on the same afternoon and briefing as you last August at Oulton Park. I did wonder why you went early as it was a great afternoon.

Stick cups on. They’ll make a driver out of you in the wet and will be less squeal y in the dry. Don’t underestimate the difference seats will make. If you’re comfortable behind the wheel and not hanging on for dear life you can then concentrate on going quicker. Great vid dude 😎

Should have went with an mx 5. Or Lotus. The GR is cool but the rear dif over heats on hard track use.

Surprised you found you wanted a brake upgrade, RS3/GT3 brake ducts make a big difference keeping them cool. More aggressive geometry will also help even with stock suspension. 😀

Try on track in track mode aids off, youll be suprised tranforms the vehicle. Great driving otherwise in standard mode.

I think you were struggling with the g/change because of those bulky gloves, do you have to wear them ?

At 20:00 looks like you were driving in normal mode? Did you experiment much with the modes? I prefer sport in mine. Seats and steering wheel spacer made a big difference

If you want it properly set up speak to Ben at string theory (Stratford upon Avon )absolute guru for setting cars up and he runs a gr Yaris himself which is spot on I’m sure it was him you went to for the white rs
