What happened to showing how to fit the seal tight against the hinge end? Can't get mine to be fully water tight there's always a small gap for a fair drip to run through and if the water sprays that way it turns to a trickle

Yes, it will depend on the design. The hinge end, in some cases, can have a slope or bevel. The best bet I have found is to get the seal TIGHT up to that end and if can (as not vertical) carefully shape to match with a Stanley knife (Obviously being very careful). Sadly, as by design it is a moving face, it will always have some water get through. I haven't come across a well designed seal that provides a flap inside the door on that hinge that reduces the likelihood of water ingress. If you find one, let me know, and I will redo the video. Got water still leaking out around the hinge and the seal, any tricks?

Yes, that will always be a weak point. Look at the area and try to get that edge of the seal as close as possible to the hinge. Other trick is to open the door fully and push the seal in that end first, getting it as close as possible. Hope helps. Please do like the video and subscribe as really helps us.

I have this same model and have fit a bubble seam as close to the hinge as possible but there is still water getting through at the hinge, is there a way to stop this as I have used silicone sealant but obviously this keeps wearing away as the door is constantly moving

I to have the same issue as Catherine

Yeah, this is the point of greatest failure. As it hinges, you cannot seal it up. Best method I found, is to consider the face the seal butts up against. Get that as tight as possible and even shape the seal carefully with Stanley knife if it is not a flat profile (Obviously taking care). Hope works.

@@ratemygadgets Somebody needs to invent a bellows seal to fix this problem, that stretches with the door movement.

I've given up trying to get mine to seal at the hinge end, and now the floor has rotted out. I'm going to try one which has two panels where the first panel is fixed, therefore I can seal it to the bath.

Hi, thanks for info on bubble seal. Is there any way to seal that corner between the moving panel and bar as water is still coming through..😞..it's now blown the MDF bath board they put in!

how to fix a glass door that is sagging / leaning down?
@ratemygadgets
@ratemygadgets Год назад
Sadly that is a different issue and a complicated one. I would say it is caused by the holding bracket screws coming loose, maybe due to moisture. It's Definelty worth considering seriously before it falls off. Recommend a decent handy DIY person. Please do like the video and subscribe.
