I will absolutely sign this because quite frankly, they’re just trying to make society worse again, and I support your contact. That’s an opinion, of course but the people on top no putting certain types of adds to the people keeps them in fear and helpless so they keep all their money. I would absolutely support this although it does not personally affect me, because I can sleep through almost anything. I still support this out of the betterment of humanity.

I’ve noticed lately there has already been an increased amount of ad’s - which is why I started to watch RU-vid. I get it in the beginning. But the middle and end… it’s ruining the experience.

I think its wild that as a creator, you arent allowed to have a say in this. Especially considering, ads are how you get paid. You are asking for less ads even, not more. Its ass backwards! I will do what I can. Thank you for all you do for the community, Jason. My 10 year old son has also recently taken after me and began listening to you time to time. You can't imagine the lives you effect. We will get around it somehow. Please don't let this discourage you. Hugs from the US.

It is because we are wanting fewer ads that they are making these changes, it is also why RU-vid keeps overruling creators settings and places ads in the middle of our videos. We make long videos yet don't have ads in them, so RU-vid puts ads in them to test the impact of doing this as they want us to have ads before, during and after our videos because this generate the most revenue for them...

as a fellow relaxation creator I, too, am so disheartened by our lack of choice! Most of my channel is demonetised by choice on purpose just to not bother the viewers with ads on purpose and now youtube is forcing this on us- so disappointing. I'll be signing the petition and sharing it. Hopefully it makes a difference :)

I only recently started creating videos and like you, deliberately kept it demonetised so ads wouldn't interrupt the ambient soundscapes. Now adverts are being forced. Disgusting levels of greed from RU-vid!

I just wanna say how much i appreciate you for doing this. I remember how upset you were when you found out people were getting ads in the middle of the videos and how quick you were to remedy it. That's stuck with me. You're such a blessing to so many people! i know you've got bills to pay, but you've always shown us such a gracious, giving soul, this is literally the first time I've seen you ask for anything and it's literally less money for you lol. Signed the petition, I hope they don’t go through with this. However if they do (because I don’t trust big companies to listen to us) I just wanted to share that Apple has a built in sleep timer if you need it! If you go to timers instead of picking a sound you can tell it to “stop playing” when the timer goes off. You can set it for however long the video is and you can go down to the second. I’m sure other smart phones have an option similar or at the very least an app to do so. Just to say that even if they do enforce this I will still be using your channel regularly to help me sleep!

Yes, I too tried to address this with RU-vid, made a video about this when I got the email, to raise awareness with viewers and tried to link up with other creators to see what we can do about this and creators plans if we can't stop this. RU-vid's view seems to be that this only negatively impact a very small number of videos. I said that if you are in the niches where it impacts all your videos, then your niche might make up a small part of RU-vid, but this issue has a large issue on those of us in those niches and that this is the problem with the data being looked at at a macro level, just saying only a small percentage of videos are negatively impacted, rather than a niche by niche basis where a lot of the videos are affected. The change is nearly here. I've noticed I'm already getting videos I have no pre and post ad control over. I'm hoping RU-vid listens...

I signed up for RU-vid premium to avoid nuisance ads in general but what you're describing would be disastrous for you and other content creators. I'll gladly sign the petition. I have had this issue with repeated intervals every 3,5 minutes during videos and every 20 minutes on certain devices asking if still listening and stopped until answer. Been really bad. Reported several times but nothing. Will sign to address again. Thanks for all you do.

I opted out on ads on my videos and they forced their ads on my content without my permission. They are greedy bastards and if you think premium is the way out, please spend your money to fill their pockets. Before you know it, they will also show ads with premium and they find a new way to get their hands on your money. It saddens me to see they already brainwashed you in their formula

I agree. RU-vid was nothing like this in the beginning. My question now is why is it that content creators now have to depend on ad revenue to keep their channels afloat when this was not the case in the past? Whatever happened to simply uploading content for others to watch? Why is everything so darned corporate now? P.S. there are other platforms like how RU-vid used to be: Bitchute, Odysee, Brand New Tube, etc. They need more public awareness and exposure.

@@ssjlkrillin agreed. I am not a frequent uploader; my channel is just for fun. I dont want ads on my videos, i just want to create things i like. Everyone is just buying better mics, better cameras, more attributes and more props. That's why these channels need an income. More more more. I think it also killed the real asmr experience. I'm sad that even hobbies need to be a source of income, just create to give something to the world

I wrote 12 pages of my own thoughts, trying to figure out why I feel unhappy about myself and life, listening to this. It helped. Even helped a great deal, so to say. Thank you. If someone reads this, who feels lost: I can't help you. And I feel sorry for that. But I hope, that while listening to this music, you take the time for yourself to sort some thoughts in your head and shut off a bit from that what hurts you. Even if throughout you realize, that it is yourself, that's hurting you the most and that you seem to find, that you cannot control this circumstance. I wish you luck to find your way.

Jason I’ve been a fan of your channel now for 4 years. It started while I was healing from cancer surgery. Some night s I listened to the healing meditations and some nights I listened to the creating miracles or affirmations just to remind myself that there could be a life after devastation. Your voice and music have soothed my soul, calmed my anxiety and have allowed me to find much needed rest on many a night. In fact, I can’t sleep without a meditation playing as I sleep. I always wake refreshed and hopeful.

Signed the petition. I know RU-vid premium isn’t an option for everyone, but I have health issues that keep me from sleeping well, and through you and some others it has helped me tremendously. I ended up getting premium because some of the channels I used had intrusive ads even back in 2019…and it was so disruptive. RU-vid needs to have some compassion for the different types of content out there. Sadly, it’s the revenue they only care about it seems. I hope the petition will bring about change to this issue because when you think youtube can’t get worse, it does. 😑😑

I noticed post video ads on all sleep relaxation videos well over a year ago. I had to switch to Spotify paid to still be able to utilize your meditations. I haven't been able to listen to sleep videos on RU-vid at all because of it. They are already doing it. Spotify paid Version doesn't roll ads. Hopefully you still get a commission of some sort when I listen there. Petition signed.

RU-vid is into all sorts of shady business with their ads. I tried to create a music channel with meditations and it was going well so they decided to start showing ads. Unfortunately, since I don't have enough subscribers on that channel, I couldn't turn them off. So every video with over 100 views is totally ruined by ads every ten minutes. So people stopped subscribing. So greedy.

@@rumblestruttersmith3666 Unfortunately, it might not be up to the creator if they don't have enough subs to be able to turn off the ads. It used to be that RU-vid only started playing ads on your videos if you had over a certain amount of subs and watch hours. I have no idea when that changed, but it's really disappointing. It doesn't give anyone a chance to grow anymore. And this new thing is going to destroy chanels like this Jason's. Hopeless greed.

I had already noticed increased interruptions on different channels which is bothersome enough. And I have had the distinct displeasure of ads mistakenly playing after a sleep meditation or story. I suffer from Fybromyalgia and insomnia which causes me to have anxiety. I am also very spiritual and your meditations are the best. I use them every night, and can honestly say they have helped me have a better night's sleep every night, as well as connecting me to my spiritual guides. I will definitely sign your petition. X

Thank you for standing up against this. Once while sleeping to one of your videos YT snuck an add in about 3 1/2 hours in! I was just starting to enter deep sleep! They’ve not done it since. But WTF?

Petition signed ✅ surely RU-vid will make it that a channel can request not to have adverts. RU-vid know that it’s in a channels interest to have adverts with Adsense payments therefore if a channel says please have a look at the content we provide and we request to decline advertisements that will effect our community. I feel one powerful petition is better than a few smaller ones: you may have done so already, but would you be prepared to email as many other sleep/ASMR contacts as possible, directly asking they share with their communities, if in favour? I will do this, of course, but being a larger channel, I'm sure it would reach much further through your efforts. I am always optimistic about our options as creators, but this situation smells like the potantial impact is on the wrong side of unpredictable... SWS
