Super late, but.... Some (rather lengthy and perfectionist) tips from my experience: I keep and sell EVERYTHING. Weeds, fish bones, old balls, old boots, scrap metal, failed dishes... Not for much, but they can be sold. And occasionally they are actually useful; Ayame periodically requests weeds, Mako and Kana sometimes request failed dishes, one of the fishing rods requires a bunch of old balls and boots, a request for 5th level watering can requires a bunch of scrap metal... I talk to every villager I can every day, twice. The first time is to help increase friendship points. (Plus, if you don't interact with each villager AT ALL for a while, they begin to LOSE friendship points) The second time I talk to them is just to learn more about the characters. Sometimes they scold you for talking to them at work, sometimes they joke about being rival farms, Harold might gossip, you learn bits and pieces of Ying's bittersweet backstory, older villagers remark on how much like family you become to them as you get closer... And when trying to trigger a date with a bachelor/ette, the option wouldn't even pop up until you've spoken to them a second time. Trenches: Don't have to be done in one go! If your character gets tired and stops, you don't have to start over! Just till the last plot you were on and continue. A way to make money WAY faster: Look for flour and rice in the Triplets' general stores. When they're available, buy absolutely as much as you can afford and have room for. Flour can be made into bread, then into toast, and rice can be made into cooked rice and then rice porridge. Both sell for significantly more than you initially paid. Before I knew this trick, it took me three and a half game years to get to a million g. Since learning it, I've made 7 million g in two years, and I didn't even use this trick every time I could have. -Saving up money is important if you want some of the coolest (albeit not always necessary) items as the game progresses. 99 million for the final construction request, which is the Key to allow you access to both farm houses at once and 30+ million for a weightless cart that makes items completely imperishable (can't go bad), to name just a couple. Pets- Hopefully it's not hard to figure out that once you have bonded with your cats and dogs, they take farm animals in and out of the barn every day, which means you don't have to feed the barn animals that day. Playing with your pets will get you closer to them faster, but a play session can take a while because you gotta wait for the animals to fetch the toys and you gotta make sure each pet gets a chance to do so. So here's a trick to save time and effort: USE THE STETHOSCOPE! Instead of playing with your pets, just check each of them with the stethoscope and fulfills the requirement. Fogu.com is your best friend. It has every recipe, every item you can find on the mountains, every bit of info on every character and every flower event, everything you need to know about EVERYTHING. Fishing, farming, animals, plants, shop items, festivals, random events, dating, having a child, construction, foraging, requests, wonderful stones, villagers, selling, cooking.... Seriously, just about anything you want to know about the game is HERE. I'm sure there's plenty more I could say, but really there are so many ways to tackle the game. Good luck all!
Wow, I've played this game on and off for years and never knew you could resume trenching like that! Just goes to show you can still learn something new about this game. Just recently started up a new game, so I'll definitely check out the money making plan you wrote, thanks!
Harvest moon games get more interesting when I you come back to the , I remember getting my first harvest moon game the mineral town one , and having a mentally that it's my responsibility to feed the town and they needed me if the farm failed everyone starved lol, blueberry town was great cuz it literally focus on animal products and that was great cuz I don't care much for farming growing rice etc in the other and I can large quantities of milk and eggs etc lol
I technically loot everything including weeds cause sometimes the Dr. Wants it and since its not gonna rot I can keep some cause who knows when she ask for them there was random point dunno if it was my luck but she needs them and I couldn't find any good thing I kept spares while there's a time limit to the request and there's no harm in it not getting delivered I still prefer to have the items before I take the quest
Yes it's just that she request it once in a while and you easily find weeds so I thought it's not really necessary to keep once all the time because it consumes space in your inventory.
@@chicallipop1 I don't usually keep stuff in the chest anyways cause no fridge and foods do rot away even with the best storage it can only hold food for quite a few but I kinda want the actual fridge back sadly Tale of Two Towns did not have it even thou majority of the events were cooking I don't get that the cooking event is 4x per season yet the only way to store foods is by chest and since you wouldn't have a good carriage at the start you can barely keep stuff for long or at least let us build a fridge like in sunshine island ..... I just dunno why TOTT removed the fridge in favor of the carriage and can't have both
@@scarletrose8766 there are two carts (which is linked to the storage chest inside your home) that actually have a zero decay rate for freshness. The UFO and Mecha Chicken carts both offer this, with the Mecha Chicken cart probably being the easiest of the two to obtain starting at Year 3 for 300,000G.
Thanks for the tips!! I actually didn't know the weeds were useless haha. I'm so used to the newer games where they can be useful for fertilizer or something. I also didn't know you can land perfectly when using the ziplines :o
@@chicallipop1 By the way, it looks like you're playing on an emulator, does it have any anti piracy stuff that messes up the game? I tried a ds rom on my 3ds and the game plays but my animals keep getting sick and I can't seem to increase friendship with anyone.
i got some new interesting informations i have never known about! thank you so much, but i want to ask you something! how to increase crops quality? do you need to increase friendship points with gombe to buy best quality crops? and for fertilizer, will it make any difference if you put many around the crops instead of just one? thank you 😢
Unfortunately no, you need to buy tons of fertilizer to increase the quality of your crop. It's pretty expensive at first but later on as you play longer it'll be a lot easier to buy it.
idk if anyone will see this but if u have played pioneers of olive town and one world which is more like this game? i need the nostalgia once again but a fresh start bc i’ve played this game 100 times
From where did you download the ROM? I downloaded harvest moon but it's not as fast as yours. The dialouge is super slow (I can't make it go faster by pressing the a button) and the background music is sometimes fast and sometimes slow. Or maybe it has something to do with the emulator?? I am using a different emulator because I could not afford the drastic emulator T^T. Urgently seeking helpppp
In my opinion I actually choose konohana because I can plant more crops than Blue bell. I just find it not necessary to have tons of animals. Plus it's much easier to tend plants because of irrigation trenches than brushing animals everyday one by one.
Technically for some people if you want both take bluebell and you can still plant in konohana cause Ina wouldn't care if you do althou you have to travel to konohana everyday to water them unless its raining but once the tunnel is open it makes traveling to both town faster easier
You can actually search in google for the food that they like because there are different food for different animals. While holding the food press A when trying to interact with the animals
Too late but bluebell (u can still use farm from konohana, its wide) if u choose konohana, there won't be much space for animals,by choosing bluebell, you get both wide farm and a lot of animals
