[Helping Hand #43] "Into The Night" by redracer // Review 

Welcome to the new series on my channel, in which I will look at and review some overlooked or unrated levels, with the goal of helping the creators in getting them rated in the end.

My friend released this level recently and asked me to check it out. I really enjoyed the previews the showed me, so I checked it out as soon as I could. Their style is very unique and interesting and for sure something to look out for.
Already when loading into the level it is clear how vastly different the visual approach the creator took here is. Its not really a style that wants to be as clear or as polished as possible, which is something very few levels try nowadays. Nonetheless, I think the visuals are really cool, with them being super chaotic but still charming, with super colorful effects and structures making everything look interesting. Of course, as mentioned before, the level is not the most polished thing ever and it is for sure not everyones cup of tea, but I really like how the creator just went into the editor and built whatever they wanted. I really like the first half of the level, the colors are really nice and I think the chaotic nature works really well. I think from the red part (0:43) onwards the level falls of a bit, I am not the biggest fan of the part at 0:49 for example. It feels a bit out of place for me, surprisingly because it isn't chaotic enough to fit into the level. The sepia part at 0:56 was also not really my favorite, I didn't like the shakes and the overall visuals also felt a bit lacking. I think they don't drag the level down too much though, I still think it's really interesting and well made.
Gameplay wise I have heard some complaints since it released, but I didn't find anything I disliked about it really. The level is obviously a bit hard to read due to its chaotic nature, but I think its really fair and easy once you look into it a bit. Its also very fun in my opinion, the gameplay works super well with the songs and the visuals. Some people also didn't really like some of the transitions a lot, which I find fair but not too bad, considering some of them got fixed with a later update. Overall I think the level plays fine, it is just a bit hard to read for a level of this difficulty.
Overall I think the level is really interesting and honestly quite nice. I like the visuals and the gameplay a lot, there are only some parts I would like to see changed. The gameplay was also fun but learny and a bit hard to read, but nothing that I think hurts the level overall. It has gotten some updates since it got released, so it could be worth going back to it if you played it before those updates. For the rating I would probably send this for a star rate, I think that is a fair rating for it, considering all the things I pointed out. I have also heard the level is a bit laggy for some, which could effect its rating. I do hope it receives a rate at some point though, it really something we rarely see nowadays. Well done!
