I am a huge fan of the charity vids. but I would watch just about any vids from Vietnam to see how much it has changed from when I was there during the war... I fell in love with the people there and have never forgotten their hospitality, I tried to learn as much as I could of their culture and how they seem to be kind and hospitable no matter their circumstance.
Yeah. I get a kick out of giving too. Especially if people are in dire need. The look on their face of gratitude is priceless. It's like s weight has been taken off the shoulders.
Your charity videos have a connection that touches so many lives, the people you help along the way, all of us that are your Patreon followers. You are an inspiration for all of us to do more for our fellow man. Respect to you. You are doing so much with your life of which you can be justifiably proud. Keep up the good work.
I love the charity videos. However sometimes I wish you'd linger just a bit and get longer reactions. Like when you hand some kid money. wait to see them tell their parents or something. I love the surprised looks.
Yes I have been wondering the same thing!! Will I be doing the wrong thing by God if I tithe to this wonderful cause when the Bible informs that tithe goes to the ministry? This is something I wrestle with a lot. I'd love to see others getting joy from this money rather than the Pastors doing not a lot like they usually do. My wife is Vietnamese and we visit there a lot. I love these people they are fantastic, just like my wife's family and her friends. Vietnamese people are so cool and always have a smile when lots of them live really crappy lives.
Philip Sutton I don't think helping poor people is considered the wrong thing in God's eyes. Troy is doing God's work so it's okay to tithe to Troy. The Vietnamese do have a lot to smile about from what they had to deal with 50 years ago. Vietnam is also improving day by day.
Kevin Chambers True, there was also a story awhile ago about a pastor who wanted his followers to donate $54 million for a private jet. But yeah, most Vietnamese think positively about the US. I think many living in Vietnam already overcame the war, its mostly the kids suffering from Agent Orange who were born after the war and don't know why they have these defects.
I am not religious. but i see that too many Church driven collecting is a bit too much of "merchants in the temple" for my heart, so.... Give to whoever you want and i am sure you relationship with your god will be just fine. Use your heart.
you're right about the charity videos being a little predictive but your hilarious subtitles and inserts are not. I actually have an unhealthy Rod Stewart obsession. So today I'm extra pleased with your work! My question: how does living with two kidneys feel like?
Just because charity videos are predictable that does not detract from the warmth and kindness you have shown these people. It is good for viewers in modern countries to see what kindness looks like and the joy you have brought to these people. It is missing from so many modern countries especially the USA. Here small acts of kindness have been forgotten in favor of ridicule and divisiveness. Thank you for reminding us.
You already know that the charity videos are my favorite. There are so many videos on RU-vid that are about people showing off their possessions, lifestyle, etc. Very few actually use the resources at their disposal to do something worthwhile and help others. At the same time, I find the charity videos entertaining and look forward to each one. It was especially good to see all the happy kids in this video. Keep up the good work, Troy. You are truly your brother's keeper.
I love your charity shit sir, it never gets old. I love the vlogs on the motor scoot as you travel the streets of Vietnam. I love your artistic flair in your video footage and editing, really what's not to love about all you do Troy. My question - Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?
It's impressive how far you travel to reach the people who you help out. Hat's off to you sir. And I think the charity videos are great and although they could get predictable, predictable, they never get old or boring and its a blessing to be able to watch what you do.
I enjoy your videos bro you bring hope and happiness to these people hope u feel better but what you do is amazing I know when u keep doing the same thing u can feel in a rut
they have to be predictable due to the format but I never get tired of them, and the recipients don’t get tired of the help you give. I look forward to every one. What you’re doing is what gives life purpose, helping people who are less well off.
Great video Troy! I remember being that happy when I got a dollar lol. I do enjoy all the charity videos and would like to see you do one where you get one of those food cart people and feed all the kids at a park or something. :D
Hey man, I love watching your videos. Some of your videos provide the "fill" for some of the elements I personally enjoy. Things like visiting a house and just hanging out - even if its like a B reel sped up and you just voicing over it, showing some of the sights around the area you're at, adding some elements like slowing mo shots and all. I think people come to watch videos cause of you, so having regular moments of you just relaxing and conducting regular conversation would be interesting since all your video conversations are very much just charity driven until you're driving on the moped. I really loved how you went back and gave them a round 2 of monies! You know what would be neat though, is if you can bring a particular skill or something fun for the kids to do. I taught my cousin recently in Dong Nai how to make homemade kinetic sand (which seems to be all the rage in VN right now), how to make beer/wine/hard cider, making homemade soap from wood ash and to most of them, it seems something 'new' and 'fun.'
Amazing drone shots & I like the cheerful vibes 🌞 How was your childhood? What is your favourite dish? What is your favourite colour/animal? I know the questions are really basic, but I’m curious 🙈
Hi Troy from Illinois. May God keep you safe amd keep up the good work you do. I know what it feels like to be poor amd unwanted in this world. I grew up eating tree barks n wild berry from the mountains and living in a orphanage where you don't eat if you are late. The video you share puts tears in my eyes.
Hey Troy, Would most likely watch anything you upload. I enjoy the funny subtitles and the insight into life in a place I might never get to experience otherwise. I'd love to see a travel episode. Just taking a trip somewhere, giving us some basic facts on the region/the people living there and the local cuisine. You could also get a donation or two in along the way if the opportunity presents itself.
I think your actions are far more important and meaningful than viewer’s entertainment value. You giving them money and helping them improves their lives even if it’s just for a day or a week but that’s a week they eat and not a week they starve. It means the world to them. Please don’t stop just because some people don’t find it entertaining
besides its merit your charity work is adventures even to watch from this far! here in the Europe cold I still takes me a virtual ride to your world! tc good luck
Part of your charm is your discomfort level around the people you are giving the money.. Maybe because you are afraid they think you have ulterior motives, but just a good person with no strings attached... Maybe you give your charity a name that has meaning to Vietnamese people that embodies your cause...which is pure sharing and desire to help destitute families and children (like a Vietnamese Santa Claus lol). Please don't be discouraged...You're videos bring joy to me (and I'm sure to all that subscribe).. You also act as a role model that we should be helping poor and destitute around us (buying that homeless guy a meal, or volunteering). Just imagining the child that grows up and becomes a better person because they remember you, a total stranger coming to village and giving them money? Pretty mind blowing... Not sure if you have time, but would be cool to ask the small children, what they will do with their windfall.. I think their responses may be the biggest surprise and really heart touching...(I suspect they won't tell you their buying a video game).
I actually like the charity vids, or the format whatever i also like when you check back in with those kids to see how they are doing because I'm always wishing the best for them. That girl on the bridge you checked back in with, she had that bread stick, the one you said needed a hat. When she left and was walking away and she looked back, the smile she gave was just, priceless! All of them though and the kids especially, those smiles they radiate, I can feel them all the way over here. Such powerful stuff even though it seems like an insignificant thing to just give money but it truly is an inspirational like thing and i hope it gives them that and to you as well. Peace!
Actually Troy you make the videos very amusing cus your all so funny and have great sense of humor!! Pluse I get to see places iv never seen before so thank you for All that you do!! Your Truly an inspiration!!
Would it be possible to do a follow up on some of the sick children you had visited in past videos, or would it be too difficult to find them? Otherwise keep up the good work.
TROY, is it an epilogue of your video last year from the orphan YUNG? I like epilogues because they show that nobody is forgotten or left behind. GREAT JOB, DUDE!
I would love to learn more about the lifestyles of the people in the countryside. If you could do that in a respectful and helpful way that would be awesome
Troy please tell me? The 200K the children received. Will the amount buy candy, or a new outfit, how much in food, in other words the buying power of the 200k. Thanks The children faces are PRICELESS. It truly looks like Christmas morning! 5:34 The girl with the purple shirt (round circle on the shirt's front) her smiles, winking and thumbs up. I watched your video 10 times each time I see a children looking at you in awe. I do not know if you know the Ellen Show. I am going to ask her to have you as a guest. God bless you.
I like your videos and what you are doing. I wished I could do what you are doing to help others people in vietnam, but like the rest of us, we are busy at our work and don't really go back home to vietnam a lot. Keep up the good work, much appreciated,
.....might be a bit much...but a small, wrapped toy with money would bust them wide- open with glee....Kids like "toys"...we have $1 stores in America that will buy some kind of toy..."Matchbox car....plastic squirt- gun....small doll"...Kids don't understand money, but they do understand TOYS.........Santa in Vietnam....
I used to collect hot wheels and match box cars. I was in Vietnam March last year and gave a bunch of them to my younger cousins... their face lit up with excitment.
I've seen other people actually purchase goods for families to start their own small business, such as a food stand or just selling small goods. You could film that, helping them setup and come back a month or so later with updates etc
I was in Cambodia a few months ago with my family to see Angkor wat. Wonderful people for sure but the beef at the restaurant didn't taste like beef! Next year is Vietnam....Also good video 😊

Can you please help some poor Hmong people who live in Sapa or Lao Cai? Most of them are very poor who are still living in dirt houses. Thanks! P.S. Sapa is a very beautiful place, you should make a visit!
