It may be just me and a vivid imagination, but I believe I can hear a difference between the old and new 220 when operating, even though they are the same model machine, the old one just has a definite hum or drone sound to it when running operating speed, nothing wrong, its just a sweet running excavator, still fun to watch and listen to. The way you take care of equipment it does not surprise me you didn’t have to replace rollers, or any track pads, thanks for the video sir, enjoyed it.

Good to know you had minimal wear on your original V 220. You took care of it and it paid you back with less rebuild on UC. I remember when Zach was helping you on the farm a few years back. No one can cut as fast as you take down trees. Looks dry and sandy like near Cameron N.C. and Sand Hill country. Nice chipper set up like Cottontop3.

nice video, as always. I am amazed how much work that mini chipper can do, i ve never seen on of that size arround here, beacuse there are so man quite bigger tractor powerd with crane, or truck mounted ones (Biomass heating with wood chips is a big thing here), i always thought that smaller ones are more of a hobby thing, but its still very capable.

Hi Chris - I'm impressed by the way you maintain your machinery - too many companies skimp on maintenance - usually costing them more in the long run. Please could you explain/show the difference between a "Progressive Link" and a non-progressive link thumb at some stage - I'd really like to know.
@FSEAirboss
@FSEAirboss 9 месяцев назад
So just another watcher here, but Non-progressive stays in the exact same position relative to the boom no matter how you move the bucket meaning you can drop whatever you grab if you open the bucket and don't at the same time move the thumb out. With the progressive as you move the bucket , the thumb will now stay relative to it, and not the boom meaning you do not have to manipulate the thumb to keep whatever you have grabbed...um...grabbed :)
@jerryclark4628
@jerryclark4628 9 месяцев назад
@@FSEAirboss Cheers - that makes sense - is that done by clever mechanical linkage or hydraulic control ?
@Jdizzlemynizzle
@Jdizzlemynizzle 9 месяцев назад
@@FSEAirbossincorrect. Both thumbs need controlled the entire time, progressive link just has full range of motion with the bucket via a extra link in the thumb.
@FSEAirboss
@FSEAirboss 9 месяцев назад
@@Jdizzlemynizzle Well, I stand corrected. I should have taken the 2 minutes to look up the thumb on the AMI site to verify before posting how I THOUGHT it worked vs. how it REALLY works. Exactly like you stated. I really thought it was the other, so I learned something today. ✌

It’s funny how much difference there is watching him take trees down and then other people do it. Some of them will make your eyes bleed watching. I did tree service for 30 years but I would say 80 percent of my work was removing dead trees and most chippers don’t like dead wood. It makes more of a mess
