The way Buck's shotgun is prpgrammed is that he shoots out a bunch of pellets and he only needs to hit a certain amount of them to do full damage. I think what's happening with Omen's gun is that it all counts each pellet as a divisible by the total damage, so if you miss even one or two of them, your damage becomes greatly reduced. I agree that they should program it more like Buck or Atlas, maybe both.

also one very BIG BIG issue i have w omen is that whenever u try to grab an evading enemy while they are using their movement or hide ability for examply like seris going to shadow walk ur whole system gets bugged where u cant shoot or use any abilities including the ultimate and so ur forced to just jump of the map r commit suicide in from of the enemies while jenos grab has never had that issue considering that they function in the same way

He's not meant to be a consistent mid range damage with his shotgun. He is a close range tank destroyer that can adapt to a fleeing enemy. The inconsistency is a natural consequence of a short range shotgun being used at longer ranges. You're absolutely right about umbral lance it's meant to change his playstyle but nerfs him far too much to be viable.

I think Omen suffers from an identity crisis, that being the fact his main form of damage is inconsistent from the get-go. He has abilities that both help and hurt different aspects of his playstyle and overall goal like with gravity vice being good for his longer range game while hurting up close encounters and with dark stride helping get up close for burst damage while at the same time making his long range game harder. I think if they were to tweak two talents to have some abilities act differently for those two playstyles that would be golden for him. For instance you could have a talent that locks him into shotgun mode and have gravity vice pull inward instead or a talent that locks him into rifle mode and have deadly domain have an innate slow to have targets be put into more of a panic state. Also maybe get rid of ominous brand, might just be a me thing but it seems really unnecessary and like it was tacked on at the end. To end it out I think if they were to go down this route with omen, having distinct playstyles through talents like this, they should also change up some of his cards to further help those types of play. Just a thought though.

i believe they should make his gun like any other shotguns in the game, instead of making a "proper shotgun" without implementing the concept correctly in the game...

I think an interesting change for umbral lance could be to make it reverse the charge phase so it starts in rife mode and winds up into the shotgun phase increasing the fire rate and the spread

So.. very well done with the break down of umbra lance... but.. what about his other talents? I haven't touched omen for many months now. I've ran in to some omens that give me trouble, usually with the dash trail thing, which could easily be me just not paying enough attention... but other than that, I find omen easy to deal with.

Could you cover VII (seven) next?? I just started picking him up and he feels SOOOOO weak but yet sooooo much fun

Hi-Rez please consider these suggestions, because your newest Champion shouldn’t be a dead one. Omen has been absolutely horrible since the changes you did to him.

Everything mentioned here is great. I just wish the bug when your gun randomly bugs out has infinite rate of fire and 0 dmg and stops you from using any abilities was mentioned for a fix. ALSO please can we buff his other 2 mediocre talents so that there is some omen variety

Fix the hitboxs, the pellet sizes, amp his damage up, shotgun redesign to a rotating 6 shot shot gun with max level more more more reducing each barrel to 1 shot but more or less damage, remove the accuracy bs and more over make his head hitbox larger so it's easy for him to get shot, the issue with shotguns in paladins is that they just have alot of consistent range even if the damage looks mediocre it's not, other games fixed this issue with much better results like TF2 and overwatch and even halo, this is just a result of unreal engine3. Paladins two needs to happen to fix all of paladins core issues

aaa was that why the pointless damage when shooting in focused mode, I thought it was a bug anyway. I honestly think you have a good point on everything, and I don't understand Paladins, every time they see something broken, they nerf it from all sides instead of making a proper balance, just nerfing More More More More or just nerfing The Legendary was enough xD. It would be interesting if they would add a legendary, that would turn the omen weapon into something similar to the jenos weapon, just for the meme and for a big change in the way to play Omen.

All of the issues talked about besides the bug is just skill issue, not an Omen issue ;-; The talent is just bad, that's true, but I don't use that talent anyways. Throwing them away isn't counter intuitive because it sets your gun into rifle mode for a few seconds with increased damage. Would I bring him to ranked? Probably not, but some maps where there is cover and close range, you bet I'm 2 shotting everyone on their team besides tanks, or even throw them off the map!

There's also a problem of talents. Jace (I don't know who this Omen fella is) has three talents, that are underwhelming to say the least. There is no recorded evidence of anyone getting value of Everyone Dies, it's one of the most counterintuitive talents in a game. It gives you 100 extra dmg on Dark Stride...'s bonk. It already deals 200 dmg to begin with, extra 100 won't help it. Honestly, dashing into a pit might be more beneficial, than dashing at enemy face. AND it also refunds 50% cooldown... of Gravity Vice? So, you're getting closer to the opponent, just to throw them away? Why? If Evil Mojo wants to go with the supercharged bonk, then they can make it increase bonk's damage by at least 300, AND make it reduce the cooldown of Dark Stride, not Gravity Vice. It might give us a cool high risk, high reward playstyle of staying in opponent's face, blasting them to bits with shotgun mode, and then continuing the chain of bonks or retreating back to safety. I agree, 30% fire rate decrease of Umbral Lance feels like a bug. And now, THE most reliable talent - Binary Void... It's not bad, but it's also not good. It gives the player some value... it ain't much, but it's an honest work. Maybe we can have that cooldown increase removed... or at least lowered. But besides that, It's okay, I guess.

Hes a mess of a character yeah, but i main him all the same. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than chucking a khan off the map, it satisfies my lucio main brain

the problem was the card not the talent and again they overreact... as they often do... instead of changing only one to see if it's enough,... they change everythings and nerf it to the ground... same for caspian and kasumi...

Omen is unique and everybody is sleeping on him. If he doesn't have sniper rifle with 600 dmg anymore it doesn't mean he cannot melt enemies. Useless video
