Sompasaari (also known as Sumparn in Swedish) is an island located in Kruunuvuorenselkä, Helsinki. It is part of the Sörnäinen district. Originally a separate island, it was later connected to the mainland through land reclamation and became part of Sörnäinen’s harbor area. Sompasaari was historically used for recreational purposes, and its lush vegetation included over 300 different plant species.
