Fun fact in an old manuscript it says that unscrewing the pommels and throwing the blade at the opponent to kill them is called to finish him rightly

Hello Skallagrim fans! I'm one of the guys in the video and wanted to thank you all for being such dedicated viewers for Skallagrim. I've seen quite a few you-tube communities and you're by far the best. Keep interested, keep watching and share with your friends!

Sure! Go to HEMA Alliance website and find local club. We have a mapfinder for North America and Europe. Contact the nearest club and see what they have for you. Or, buy my Polish Saber book. Easy to find on Amazon.com and can get you started on that system.

I had a teacher who was a historical fencer, he used a style passed through generations in his family; he was a direct descendant of don Juan Quijada de Reayo, one of the most prominent fencers in the old Spanish fencing style. Sadly he died without passing the style because nobody was willing to be his student :/

In a bout such as this the point is "not" to get hit so a lot of caution is taken to be deliberate with ones tactics and deliveries. Its not as exciting as the movies but real life seldom is.

What I find so fascinating about these guys is that just about every time they spar there is never a clear winner...they are both on such a high skill level it almost always comes down to luck or a careless mistake, but neither gets careless very much.

A large sword would lop off a limb or just kill you fast... while thin swords made for puncturing... They will enter and just destroy all your organs, and all you can do is sit there and bleed out slowly. it's not fast like losing an arm or a head, it's very, very, very slow and i could imagine very painful.
