Grown men now. And some of them I can still recognize from their childhood performances. The joy has not changed a bit. I'm so glad so many of them could make it to the reunion. Mazel tov! Ten years after the performance. I'd love to see the reunion be a regular thing.
This was very difficult to pull off. It was a one time performance for their 36 anniversary concert. They've done Alumni groups in the past (including an album of original songs with a group of 4 alum called Miami Alumni) but it's difficult to maintain a group like this as most of them have jobs outside of music or have moved away.
No my heart is not still there. They stole it the first I watched this video. I always tear up. Grown up even more since ten yrs have passed since this performance. They simply amazing and I love the song.I watch this often and can't stop smiling.
Front Row, Stage Right to Stage Left: Gershi Adler; Jordan Odinsky; Shaul Elson; Yoshi Bender; Benji Elson; Zalman Pollack; Eli Sinreich; Jonathan Brody. Back Row; Stage Right to Stage Left: Amiel Tabanpour; Yisroel Moshe Weinreb; Yitzchak Friedman; Daniel Muchnick; Eric Stern(Steve Carrell look-alike); Nochum Stark; Isaac Benishai; Elchonon Majeski; Zevy Kaufman I watched the Miami 36 concert and it listed the names and kid/adult pictures so I just went through and matched the adult picture to a person during the performance.
Hi there! I have a question for someone who is Jewish, I mean absolutely no disrespect from my question, it is just coming from a place of pure curiosity. Why is it that some Jewish men have long hair growing from their sideburns, and some have a simple, clean haircut with no long hair? And does a Jewish man having a beard VS no beard have any significance? Thank you so much!
Hi! It’s just different sects of Judaism. The long locks are called peyot - those are usually Hasidic. Clean shaven is usually just regular orthodox or modern orthodox.
they are called peyot/payot/peyes (depends which language and sect) some wear them long and curled some just don't fully shave their hair, some wear them a bit longer behind the ears, some just cut it. judaism is like all other religions in that it has different interpretations of how certain rules should be followed.
Is it just me... or do they actually sound better?... Now, who was it that said you can't improve on perfection? I hope they get to cover their whole 'back catalogue'. Wouldn't be interesting if the 'copyright' owner decided to do a 'mix' Yes, a 'then' & 'now' duet would be absolutely magical. Jewish music is going mainstream...at least attaining its own following.
Two ID questions: 50 seconds in, who is the guy second from the (audience's) right in the group singing? He looks so similar to Little Isaac (although I know it's not him, since Big Isaac is someone else on that stage lol). And, who is that jovial, happy-for-everyone guy with the long peyos? I've been wondering ever since I've seen him for the first time, sometime in the last two weeks.
these men are all men who graduated from the younger choir at any point. most of them are from before the 2007 group (the yerushalayim group), so like from 2000-2005, however im sure some men were in mbc way earlier than 2000 as well. this performance was from 2013 though so im guessing yoshi was like 16-18. idk how old he is now
Well, firstly the accent and pronunciation that they’re using is different than the Hasidic dialect. But mainly because they’re not dressed Hasidic. As an Orthodox Jew there are some nuances that are obvious to me.
