Hendrickson UBL Lift Kit Install - Tag axle Conversion - Trailstar End Dump gets a Lift Axle

This week we finally did the install on the Hendrickson UBL Lift Kit on the 1988 Trailstar Frameless end dump. Install went smooth other than a few plumbing issues. Just gotta finish up the liner and we are good to go with the trailer!

This guy aint kidding. I've installed a few of these units. UBL-001. And not once have I gotten the right instructions. However, there is a site with Hendrickson where yo can upload the PDF for every one of their units. Great Video

I need to know the plumbing part of this and what valve I need. I have the lift kit only and I need to buy the mechanism that makes it work and I don’t know what to get

Thanks for the videos Mike! I like the old paint scheme. My father used to have posters in his office of the cabover and conventional pairs with matching paint schemes. Do your thing though. I'm sure it'll be awesome.

Should have welded the swing arm piece on before the hanger piece. It wouldn have made that fron weld easier.

Please don’t tell me you’re gonna paint it pink with purple polka dots! The stripes are cool they kinda show what everyone thought was cool back in the day. Did you ever get the hub cracking issue figured out? I always liked how that model Pete looked anyway so it would be hard to make it look bad. Saw a guy up in Michigan that had one painted like an Easter egg that actually looked pretty good. Stay safe man

It almost sounds like you don’t have a QR1 valve on the new lift bags, and the bags are trying to exhaust through the solenoids when you lower the axle.

Yeah. I didn't have the right regulator valve on the "air down" side so I threw a generic air compressor reg on it. It wouldn't allow the air to come back through the system and wouldn't release it fast enough. Got the right parts in it now and all works great. I even set up the weights on it when I added the scale system.

Thanks a ton man! Its hard for us little guys!!! I wish I would have kept goin right after I started!!! I was catchin fire... Now its like starting from scratch again!! Oh well... Glad you and all the others are diggin it!!!
