Henk is a darling, after his soloshow Hero's (he performed at my hometown) he came and had a beer at the bar at the theatre. He grabbed a stool for my 84 yr old mum, lifted her on it and hugged her. She melted and had a smile from ear to ear which remained for days, fangirl. When I thanked him for making her so happy, he looked deep into my eyes... I've always loved him, but at that moment I fell in love with him...sigh...
i like all of henks songs. the phantom, sound of silence, vivo per lei and noelia are the best ones. but hell, he even did a country song^^ and it was great^^
I love how Uncle Henk gave the song a Cuban twist, makes me pretty sure he has "Buena Vista Social Club" in his record collection because this could've easily be a song on that album. Uncle Henk sure showed his range on this show with all the very different songs he performed. Thnx for a great reaction man :D
Thank you for watching, He really did make this a Classic didn't he? I could easily have that version on a playlist and hear it several times a day and probably not get tired of it. there is something about it that just gives off really authentic vibes, but thats weird considering that it's Henk and a this Band. I love it.
Our man in Krakou, thanks for this fun, loving, reaction. I am biased as a dutch man , but we are blessed as a tiny country with such talented ppl. Thanks Sean for your reactions, it makes me happy in these weird times.
You guys really are blessed, everyone on that show is amazing, but Uncle Henk, Oh man, I would kill to hangout with him some time. He just seems like such a cool dude!! and thank you, I had fun recording it and i'm glad you got some joy watching it! ✌✌
@@julianhernandez5234 Thats cool, I just wasn't sure what version you were comparing against. No disrepect to the Biebs but I wasn't a huge fan of his version and thats they one Henk thought he was covering :) :)
Yes my friend, you found beste zangers again, what a fun this one,or not? Henk can realy do anything, i saw him so mutch live in so many different songs and syle, i love uncle Henk, thanks for this one, stay safe, good weekend
Glad you enjoyed it, I never lost the show, just dealing with some things here at home and overall wasn't posting that man videos. But I really had to see this one, and I'm so glad i did. I was in a great mood that whole day after that. He really is super smooth.
Don't you love when you get to know them a bit on this show and you start to love the people who are performing and on the couch. We already loved Floor of course. And I think most Dutch people knew Henk Poort as the singer. Not as the friendly and funny uncle Henk we've seen on the show. I only knew Floor, Henk and Tim before the season started.
That's 100% how it happened, I started for Floor and then as I saw the other performers and the interactions they have with eachother, it was just amazing.
@@CUTnPASTEreacts The show has a great concept. Not a contest, but an homage to each other. And of course the show is put together in a way that it gets personal and emotional. But I like seeing the human side of artists.
Just on the rehearsal thing - what I've noticed after watching duets from three seasons is that Henk's duets with Floor and Emma were by far the most polished and least off the cuff sounding. It really shows in the duet with Emma, which I think has the most complex vocal arrangement of any of the duets I've seen so far, and they performed it brilliantly, which I attribute to Henk and his Opera derived preparation. Henk's brilliant not just because he has a terrific voice but also because of how he prepares.
Oh for sure, other have even pointed out that on some of Henks performances he doesn't even wear the ear monitor, casue he's that prepared for it. I have no issues with either approach, I just think it's really ballsy of Emma to do her recording of Despacito with so little preparation. Hope I didn't come across as talking badly of those who do prepare alot, wasn't my intention. ✌✌
@@CUTnPASTEreacts Oh, no worries, I'm not implying anything negative about what you said. Dithering because you "aren't ready" is just procrastination, and sometimes you just need to jump in like Emma and just do it. Your point is sound. I was really using what you said as a jump off point to comment on how well prepared Henk's duets are by comparison to the others, which seem much more off the cuff. Those are fun to watch, and I'm sure fun to perform, but they aren't jaw dropping in the way Henk's duets with Emma and Floor are.
For sure, I like the original, but this defintiely stands on its own. as I said I think this version would be played in Latin resturants where only locals eat. at least in my head it does :)
Hi Chanda, Great reaction to a great rendition and performance, thank you! As someone else noticed , sounds like he is doing this with a Cuban sauce, I would agree :). He really is loved, which is why they call him "Ome Henk" (Uncle Henk) in the first place, not just because he is the nestor of the group. It is occasionaly used as a term of endearment over here in the Netherlands :). He is also quite the comedian, always joking, and in a very nice way too. Really looking forward to your reaction to his "Vincent" as well. It actually is a Dutch translation, but it is so incredibly well done, it is unheard of. I am really looking forward to what you make of it :). Love, warmest regards, Wim P.S.: Talking about "Vincent", as Vincent van Gogh was rather important as a painter and artist, and is considered one of the greats of whom we are really very proud, you'll find that many Dutch artists have covered the Don Mclean song, and the last Voice of Holland winner auditioned with a completely stunning, spine-chilling version. Sophia Kruithof audition: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-crzrVkQu130.html Enjoy!
Hey again, I am adding that to my list of music to react to. But based on the recomendations received to do it, I'm sure I will enjoy it. Pretty much everthing Uncle Henk does just seems enjoyable for me.
Very nice and good reaction to a perfect performance by "uncle" Henk. 👍 Some would say "I told you, you will like it". You have balls if you pick something that has reached the most views on Emma's chanell. Now the song stands on 12,284,705 views, and Ema has 3.34 million subs. And yes your observation and reaction regarding Emma 💖 is correct, she is a real gem, a pure diamond. As you corectly explained Henk did a heck of performance and you are not allone Despacito from Henk Poort had a lot of views and good reponse, also from Spanish en Portugese speaking people. A reaction from a Portugese speaking person, @Felipe Lima, explains it perfect, "It is a Latin language that is very similar to the Portuguese spoken here in Brazil, where this song was also very successful. The interpretation was beautiful and "very hot" like our tropical climate. Congratulations!" And saying it again, a lot of respect to the band.
Thx for that, Henks performance is always immaculate. he is a true professional, but it was so cool to see him have fun while still being such a professional.
By the way, if you like to hear a operasinger rapping eminem 'Lose yourself', in 'Beste zangers 2018' , Maria Fiselier did it, hilarious, but so good!!!....maybe, you like to react to it. Have an nice day!
@@CUTnPASTEreacts Vincent, Translated from Don Maccleans 'Starry, Starry Night" by Marine Bijl (she passed away last year, but a very well know singer/translator in her own right, in the Netherlands and Belgium).
Hi, you enjoy this program so much , but I enjoy your reactions evertime , it's gonna be time you come to The Netherlands when there are Events in the whole country.
Henk did Despacito and Ruben did Elvis. I would not be surprised if Henk would sing Elvis at first and Ruben Despacito. That Ruben didn't trust himself to perform this song and Henk suggested to switch songs. He did a good job but not the most impressive. That would be Noelia and of course Phantom. I would love to see Henk perform Elvis.
Dang, lost connection, typing again... January 2 there was a Beste Zangers special aired. You can watch it, including translations, on Daily Motion. Part 1 www.dailymotion.com/video/x7ygf09 Part 2 www.dailymotion.com/video/x7ygf0g For now we simply don't know if or when it is going to be recorded and aired. For now everything is on hold, serious lockdown here, and even a curfew put in place. Thus just the two videos on Daily Motion. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news 😐
great react ;). try "Noellia". a song for Rolf by Henk. I love it. I don't remember if you reacted to the duet Emma/Henk in "vivo per lei". if not, you should take a look on it.
I was right. I had to skip all the talking plus at 6:27 you pause during the song. So, a thumbs down, you are a bad reactor and very predictable. You are still living in 1999.
So, let me get this straight. You're complaining about a reactor actually reacting? You do know you can just watch the original video if you want it without pauses, right?
