Henna and ayurvedic hair color expert Khadija is reacting to 3 different women coloring their hair with Indigo! Indigo is an herb that naturally colors a blue color (think blue jeans), but when used with henna, it can create beautiful brown tones and even up to black tones. In this video, we are watching these women color their hair black with Indigo, and one of them goes completely rogue!

@@dearinsomniadontletthebedb9237 after you do the 2 step process, put a leave-in conditioner on your hair and put into twists (or plaits) and cover with a silk scarf. Sit under the dryer for a while to get out most of the excess water. Use a stylish scarf or a wig to cover your hair for the next 48 hrs. Then co-wash and moisturize and seal as you normally would.

I have been dyeing my greys with 2-step henna/indigo for a few years now. I have thinning hair and did not want to aggrivate the (genetic) reality by using chemicals. Mixing the two was challenging at first. Henna was making my scalp itch like crazy, and the indigo would not take well. I tried everything the videos instructed and finally settled on what works for me: henna - mix to a pudding consistency, with water, add a couple tablespoons of almond oil AND cream conditioner. Leave covered for 2 hrs. The color is vibrant and my scalp does not itch at all; indigo - mix to paste consistency with warm water and 3 drops of perfumed oil of your choice (helps with the strong smell of the indigo). Leave covered for 3-4 hrs.

@HennaSooq
@HennaSooq 23 дня назад
Hello! When using pure henna powder (body art quality), and herbs for hair, you can use stainless steel bowls. Traditionally, they have used iron bowls, as it has shown to bring our more dye release. We typically use a spatula to mix it. We don’t usually use plastic bowls because they are porous, and the herbs will stain the bowl. The commercial boxes of henna, and henna “colors” that contain other ingredients, herbs, additives, metallic salts, etc..would more so cause reactions with metal bowls, then 100% pure herbs would.

Hello. Henna can sometimes fade over time as does any type of dye (weather and elements cause this or heat over time) and it also grows out so it’ll eventually come out on its own fully over time. Henna hair dye lays 4-6 weeks but depends on hair growth.

Hello, First timer both in viewing your video and trying Habibs Henna for the very first time. Application was quite simple. I had a great experience with using black tea, lemon juice, and 1 egg. I allowed my henna to sit undisturbed for exactly two hours before adding the lemon juice and egg. After I applied it to my dry hair I let it remain on for another two hours and covered with plastic cap. Then I rinsed the henna from my hair. I did wash and condition my hair after and began my regular curl regimen routine. My hair came out silky and soft with reddish highlights all throughout my hair. However, my hair is dark brown shoulder length 4a hair type and it dries out frequently. Therefore, it requires lots of daily moisturizing. Do you have a specific preference or the best hair moisturizer to use for my hair type? I would love to hear your insight. And yes I’m a new subscriber😊

Hi! I was wondering some things about using indigo mixed with henna or over a henna base-when the brown/black color starts to fade, do the reddish tones stick around stubbornly and make the hair look very auburn or coppery? If so, how soon does this indigo fading usually happen with very minimal washing and product application?
@unabashed

My experience: it stays strong if you've applied it correctly. I use a henna base first then do straight indigo I don't mix the two, never worked for me in the past). After years of trying and ending up with green hair, I finally got it right and the results were basically permanent.

I started with lemon juice, then tea and then coconut milk. No problem with coverage, washing out but my natural hair became drier and drier as well as rough feeling. I have had success by doing one “real” 2-step process and then doing indigo “booster shots” in my weekly deep conditioner. (Like a Ayurvedic gloss). This helps the black to last for like 6 months without having to do another full2step, 6+ hr process). No green cast over hair. Fortunately i have no greys… but i think you could get away either doing this for 3-4 even if you have some greys

😇 Hi Kadijah.. I am 57 with some graying hair and I would like to use the henna and indigo process for my hair.. I want to get the bluish/black color, how long should I let the henna stay in and how long should I let the indigo stay in to achieve that.. I really would like more midnight blue to black result, my hair is low porosity and drying because of menopause, my natural hair color aside from the gray is a little lighter than a coffee dark brown, the length of my hair is past my shoulders, to right below my shoulder blade. I know now to add the aloe Vera powder to the henna powder when preparing to help with dryness. I started also noticing that my hair is thinning with age/menopause also. I use to go to the Dominican salon but when menopause hit, I only go maybe 2 times a year. I believe the thinning maybe came from the super hot blue dryers that they use to straighten the hair, plus I really like my natural curls more than the straight hair. I only get it straighten when I have a special/formal event to go to or just to see how long it grew, my hair type is 3c.. need your expertise advise.

To achieve black, I do a henna/indigo one ☝️ step process by adding twice the am’t of indigo to the henna, and it comes out great 👍🏽.

hennasooq If you use a daily henna dye as a touch up on your roots like Naturally Brite henna hair dye could that get on your face over time and dye the skin on your face red?. My moms been using that as a touch up on her roots and she swears its turning her normal yellowish tannish skin tone to a darker reddish orangey brown.

Do you have a one step using indigo and henna? I have greys but don't like doing the two step. Time consuming... thanks
@HennaSooq

If you have greys the two step process is going to be the way to go, otherwise they won't match the rest of the hair. Here is the video on greys: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SDV1ShzhJGw.html

Hey Khadija, you do have an old video where you mentioned that salt would help the color stick ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C34Pb8bcXHo.html I do use your products but I am kicking myself for forgetting the salt, because when I used the Hennasooq indigo for the 2nd step after Red Raj, the indigo didnt stick despite having it on my head for 5hrs, :(
