I had a silver plated serrie III which I sold. Best soprano I ever played. Shouldn't have gotten rid of it. I have a Yanigisawa now which is a good horn as well.

Ces commentaires me laissent perplexes. Wayne Shorter dit avoir joué sur un mark VI en 51-52 alors que la série a commencé en 54 me semble-t-il. Ensuite, il dit n'avoir joué que sur des selmer alors que je l'ai vu joué sur des sopranos argentés yanagisawa ou Yamaha. Ceci dit, je suis d'accord avec lui sur les possibilités d'imitation des sopranos selmer. Avec mon série III je peux imiter la flûte en subtone, le hautbois, le cor anglais. Bon, le cor d'harmonie ou le bugle ça je ne sais pas faire

The problem with this video is Shorter claims to have been playing a MK-VI in 51-52. The MK-VI didn't come out until 54. He also claims to have played the MK-VI with Art Blakey's group right on through with Miles Davis and never playing anything else. There's film footage of him playing with Davis and he's playing a Buescher made horn.

My Selmer Soprano Series II sound is unbelievably flexible. I have played Yanis, Yamahas, you name it. None of them compare to my Selmer -- it is always in tune and, contrary to what some people say, offers no resistance (so, it is easy to play)!

the selmer ser iii soprano is the most disappointing selmer i ever played. if they made this with a fixed neck it would be a diff story. leaks at the neck and octave key issues abound! my yamaha bent neck was a MUCH better horn . give me a yani with mk6 keywork any day over the ser 3
