just watched a welch hill climb event from 1981 with Toivonen in it. He was flat out and always sideways, yet had fastest time on downhill ( and would have had fastest on uphill if not for one mistake ). Its kinda crazy how hard he over drives his car, yet it still goes fast anyway. Very aggressive and inspiring
I was born in 1985, I've never seen him run and I haven't lived through those incredible and unique years, but his legend and his fame made me passionate like no one else. this is an example of what was and is a great champion
This driver took a lot of Finland, his death was a tough setback for all Finnish competitors for Finland. but we will never forget his sacrifice for their country. if he had any knowledge of his possession. R.I.P Henri Toivonen, we do not forget you. your career as a rally driver in the heart of all human beings continues.
