Henry .22 Magnum Raccoon Hunting 

Good shooting. My first coon hunt was on our family farm with my Granddad in 1963. City folk think they're "cute"...but they're pests. They don't get called "masked bandits" for nothing.

I have to say, I'm not a huge fan of the skinner sights. I bought a Marlin 1895 Brusk gun in 45-70. Everything I read said you've got to change out the semi Buckhorn sights for skinner. Skinnef has it's place in a heavy brush, short range situation but I felt I lost a lot of accuracy beyond 50 yds. My Henry 22 magnum came with standard sights. I much prefer them over the skinner. I ended up installing a Halo-Sun green dot.

Great video and nice work! I have a Savage 93F in .22 mag. It is an absolute hammer on jack rabbits out to 125 yards. I shoot CCI green 30grn JHP lead free (CA) and get 2300fps at the muzzle. They are very accurate in a lot of rifles, give them a shot if you see them.

Your doing well. Welcome to coon hunting! Follow up shots were not necessary. I respect that you don't want the animals to suffer but both were dead at the first shot in this video. Learn how to skin raccoons. The processed fur is soft and warm and can be used for many things from gloves to hats and more if you have enough of them. And your right, there is no shortage of raccoons. Lots and lots.

My wife's favorite animal on earth is the damn raccoon, I guess they're cute and use their little hands like people do but growing up these mfs would be in your trash can growling at night or tearing up the garden especially when we had corn. Plus they carry rabies, so any time we saw one we'd shoot it. Refreshing to see someone carrying on the old ways with a beautiful rifle just enjoying nature and managing the pest population 🤙

I honestly live for the 22lr its just a amazing small game round great for rats pigeons turkeys everything smaller then 12 inches or any bird really i went hunting with my uncle in morocco when i was 14 and i got too use a rossi gallery 22lr to shoot the birds in places where he wasnt alloud to use 12 Guage and i killed like 4 pigeons for my first time hunting it was amazing and for it being such a small caliber its amazing survival caliber it also has very low reciol so kids that want to shoot for their first time can try trully a amazing caliber which gets too much flak

I'm thinking about buying a .22. But I'm not sure whether to get an LR or a Magnum. Is the Magnum much louder than the LR? Or is it about the same? I want to use the gun for raccoon hunting at a maximum of 50m. can you say something about that?

22 mag will take out a hog with a head or neck shot.
