My first ever rifle and 3030 was the henry brass. I was looking for the henry 3030 color case side gate. But i bought the brass model. Just like the way tou are holding. But about three months ago. I came across the color case side gate 3030. Yes, it is now mine also. I have not shot either one so far. But i have shot my 45 colt and 44 magnum henrys. I like the sound and feel of a lever action.
I'm just not a Henry fan. They are pretty to look at but that's it. And those oversized sights stick out like a sore thumb. It is a good thing that they have costumer service because you are going to need it. If they tested the things before they send them out it would be obvious that they needed fixing.
A Marlin lever action is very hard to beat. Smooth, accurate with ammo it likes, and very simple to dis-assemble for cleaning. Way fewer parts than a Henry or a Winchester.
I like the Marlins better even if the Henry has the side loading gate and i have a remlin and so far so good the Henry is more klumsey the Marlin more fast to handle and the ejection slot is bigger marlin for me
Prejudice is definitely present you bad mouthed the Henry from the get go. The Marlin shot a five inch group at 100 yards. At least shoot ammunition from the same new box in both rifles. Not a good comparison.
Sorry, but I wouldn't own either one of them. My dad had a Marlin like that that I hunted with for years. They make Henery rifle barrels in my town. Please know that I am NOT criticizing you at all. I am also not a big fan of the 30-30 cal, nor the lever action. Just not my favorites, but a lot of people around here use them for brush guns.
@@sorshiaemms5959 In some settings a lever is better than a bolt. But I grew up with lever actions, and then moved into bolt actions and found the bolt actions more accurate, especially at distance.
I bought a win model 94 when i was about 23 ys old, you could not hit the broad side of a barn with , the sights were off center front and back, worse gun i evet owned
@@kennethblevins6172 It is easy to adjust the rear sight on them. Even if it shoots way off the slightest movement of the rear sight will make a huge difference.
The most accurate 3030 ive ever seen was a sears model 64 i bought from a buddy of mine back in the early 70s if you put the sights on it it was a goner. Im not sure who made the rifle for sears during that era
