Just goes to show, sleepy old Norfolk's not so sleepy after all, marvellous presentation, been there several times living in Caister, but never been to the museum, bloody well will now.
Thank you for all your hard work putting this together my mother says it’s a really accurate account R c Davies (bob) is my grandfather r.i.p making Henry my great uncle I used to love going to Cromer in the summer time happy memories
@@alittlebitofhistory yes definitely, and not forgetting his crew all brave men who backed Henry all the way.they just don’t make them like that anymore
The George Cross is not the second highest gallantry award, It is equal with the Victoria Cross. The difference between the two is that to win a VC the bravery must be "in the presence of the enemy". On dress uniforms the if the holder has both the VC is worn first.
All I can say is England makes strong men and women. I always tell people who think the US won WWII all by itself that England fought more than we did and our success would not have been possible if England hadn't been giving the Nazis hell for years before we got there. England might be a small island but she's made some mighty men and women.
While I appreciate your comment, I don't think it is accurate to say Britain stood alone before the entry of the US and the Soviet Union into the War, troops from the commonwealth/ Empire were engaged all world. Even on Britain its self Troops from everywhere were stationed from Canadians to Free Polish and Czechoslovakia troops. Victory was team effort and I don't think any 1 nation could of carried the day by themselves.
