The Dance Band Days, presented by Alan Dell, broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on 2nd May 1988 was a special programme on the occasion of Henry Hall's 90th Birthday.
Recordings played included:
Come Ye Back To Bonnie Scotland
It's Just The Time For Dancing
A Bungalow, A Piccolo And You
We're In The Money
I Told Ev'ry Little Star
Pettin' In The Park
Memphis By Morning (Broadcast from the London Palladium)
Caravan Of Dreams
Dinah/ It Had To Be You (Music Makers Broadcast material 1936)
The Music Goes 'Round And Around
Under The Double Eagle
It's Time To Say Goodnight
Here's To The Next Time
Please note that the programme has been transferred from cassette tape, and the sound quality has imperfections due to its age, and perhaps storage. I trust that this will not detract from your enjoyment of this historic show.

Alan Dell was a great broadcaster. There is an opening for a biography of the marvellous Henry Hall. .

A lovely posting! Caravan of Dreams is the kind of HH-recording that should be reissued, a rich arrangement, well played and recorded. Nothin against "The Teddy Bears' Picnic", but there was much more to the BBC D.O. (with the stress on D.O.).

Monday evening radio: Hubert Gregg, Alan Dell, Humphry Littleton. Like their rich characters have moved on, so such radio has disappeared.
