Henry hoover floor tool stuck on the metal pipes? Or maybe you can’t separate the metal pipes?
Try this quick hack and they will separate easily.
Put boiling water onto the joint and then twist the joint.

@@wolfcompany2 the boiling water not only frees any dirt in the joint but will make the metal expand and help free the joint.

@@wolfcompany2 I’m not a scientist. Cold water doesn’t work, warm water doesn’t work… red hot water does. That’s what I know.

Brilliant tip! I managed to hoover up a sock and it got stuck in Hettys end, boiling water on, and it twisted straight off.

Thank you sooo much, I continually poured half a kettle of boiling water over the plastic attachment and it came off so easily, I am assuming it was due to the expansion of the plastic due to the heat! Worked a treat, solved my problem in a couple of minutes

I tried this and first time didn’t work. Twice nothing and third time did a whole kettle of boiling water and came off a treat. Thank you. It is so firmly jammed that it’s enough to have one tearing one’s hair out!🤬🤬

@@lizziedjango crazy isn’t it really. Glad I helped though and too marks for persistence. If you pop something on the ends like a tiny bit of Vaseline, grease spray or wax. This should stop it jamming again in the future Jonny

Thank you so much! Took several tries but I finally got it to work. I made the mistake of using my body weight to put the pieces together since I could feel some air when the vacuum was on. Think the vacuum has a leak :(.

Yeh definitely not an easy task. It’s rare for the metal pipes to get a leak but I guess anything can happen. Usually the valves on the bent pipe that can cause this or the flexible hose. Let me know if you need any more advice Parts are on HenryBags.co.uk too Jonny

Others include wd40 on the joint jug it’s not as good. When pouring the water on do it so it runs into the joint. Just pouring it randomly on a very seized joint only helps a little. It seems to be the best method that I have tried so maybe try again. After out your door on the tool to hold it as best you can, and Twist the pipe with dry hands… one lady said that she put rubber gloves on to help and that worked.

If you pour it over as shown most of the water will run over the floor tool. Very little would get in the pipe. I would make sure you wipe everything over with a microfibre cloth and check the inside of the floor tool too. Just to make sure. In summary… if it gets wet inside let it dry ti be safe.

Tried the hot water without success, also applied WD40 and still wouldn’t budge. I had to use a pipe wrench to free the connections, it’s a poor design that’s the problem.

@@mickmorrison I use to do it with wd40 but very rare it works. I now always do the water, trying to pour it so it gets into the seems. The. Use wd40 before I put it back together. Yeh there must be a better way than friction fit. I always think if I struggle, what must it be like for less able people.

@@BomzauTycoon9 you can try it but generally not as good. It is however good to pop some on before you put them together again… helps prevent them sticking in future

Well I've tried this method and I can confirm that it does not work. My metal pipes are still jammed tight together. Tried several times and boiling water does absolutely nothing. So I'm at a loss as to what else to try.

Wow your Henry must be stubborn. Some people spray wd40 into the cracks and leave it for a few hours…. I’ve found getting the spiking water into the cracks works better though. But worth a mention. Grip wise, not the easiest either on the metal pipes. I sometimes try and put my foot on the floor tool to hold it and something on my hands to help me grip too as I twist the pipe. They really shouldn’t make it this hard

Oh no. Honestly can be a night mate. Really try and pour it into the joint. Hope you manage it. If you finally do, be sure just to put some wd40 or small amount of Vaseline on the joints and it may make it much less hard work in future.

@@JosephineJlo hard work isn’t it. Try get the water into the deems when you pour. Forget pulling and just twist to break the seal. Worst case scenario is to buy new pipes but I did this video to try and help people save money from doing this
