Really sad that you get these calls and emails. Maybe you got more of your Google adverts then Numatic does, haha But Numatic headquarters does not have cute donkey paintings :-)
@@Paultje118 it’s been draining me for so long. Good that people learn about my site and often say that I’ve been more helpful than Numatic. But it’s just the time involved. Emails have slowed now due to website message.I still dont think I could open up the phone again though
I have a red light when I switch on but nothing else. Have changed the switch and still nothing. I have cleaned contacts at the the lhead atill nothing. The area wasvery ioly. Please help! Thanks
@@claireellis-k6s so you have the model without hi low? Also the contacts are in tact just greasy? Finally was it a sudden death (no strange behaviour or smells?
@@claireellis-k6s ahhh ok. I wouldn’t worry too much about the grease. Use the video below… you have covered all the steps almost so just skip to the motor section of the video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OkJrItk8xio.htmlsi=IjTzsNWZBOcslWym Motors are available on our site
@@danielleoneill2119 let me know what issue you are having and symptoms etc. Also if you model has a hi low switch or not. Tell me as much as you can and I will help.
Thanx for the video. My Henry stopped working when the bag had come off and the inside was completely stuffed - consequently it was overheating. I've cleared it obviously but it still won't start. Is there a trip? I've changed the fuse btw. Thanks David S
@@davidshortt8673 there is a thermal cut out within the motor. If this has totally failed sadly they can’t be bought separately. It’s rare for these to totally fail too. Worth checking everything else over first before you go to the expense of a new motor though. Jonny Henrybags.co.uk
@@DaveRoberts-k4n It would normally be if the motor is getting too warm. Check if the filter, bag or blockage may be doing this by following this video…. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T-LrgOQ7yjo.htmlsi=YQc1d2qKSuuqnC4b It’s also work checking the switch anyway as there is no harm in that. Also check that when it cuts out is it when the cable moves…. It could be that or the contacts under the rewind that are intermittent. If non of this resolve it it may be that the motor itself may need replacing but that’s not a common thing. Let me know how you get on Jonny
@@DigitallyRemasteredMusic i get that and think it’s a an ok thing to do if regular (even though they say not to) I don’t ever mention it though incase someone puts a seriously manky one in the washer and comes out even more clogged up. Or damages one in the wash etc etc. I have also heard of someone putting the hose in the washing machine too. I don’t think I’d be allowed by the Mrs
@@HenryBagsI always put the hose ans filter in the washing machine, comes out fine as long as you allow the hose a few days to dry as they retain the moisture quite a lot
@@RJA_World yeh I’ve been known too soak a few in tfr in the bath when the mrs isn’t around lol. Gotta be careful telling people to wash anything though.
Appreciate the video and your help. My henry seems to have just stopped working. Put a multimeter against it and switching on off shows the switch working, you got any tips on what else it could be?

Thanks, I was going to order a whole wire kit to replace the existing cable. My vacuum cleaner only worked when the cable was fully stretched out. It turned out to be a break in the wire, about 5cm from the connection into the machine. So I cut the wire about 10 cm in and reconnected the new ends into the vacuum cleaner. Works with no issues now
@@evilnomy786 great news! Can’t beat a free repair. Anyone who sees this, if you can see where the break in the cable is then it’s fine to cut it short at the rewind end. You can also do it at the plug end by fitting a generic mains plug. Thanks for sharing 😊😊😊😊😊
@@HygienistDentist shipping to the USA is something that I have been looking into as the vacuums grow in popularity over there. Is there a main parts supplier there already?
This is a great video, I'm glad I found it. As luck would have it I managed to point the fault to the PCB straight away as I could follow power into the vacuum. I removed the PCB and wired the motor wires directly to the switch - hey presto it worked. It's disappointing to find this PCB in the vacuum, a delicate part that sellers are demanding £30 just for the PCB. There is no need for it to be included in the design of the vacuum, a poor engineering decision. I can see why a lot of these end up being thrown away which is not good for the environment, cost etc. Thanks again and I hope a lot of people use this to keep their Henry going.
Thank you Gary for your feedback and makes my day when the video saves another. Totally agree with them not needing to exist. If ever you want to you can also replace the li low switch with the LED henrybags.co.uk/products/henry-led-bypass-pcb-bypass-hi-low-switch?variant=45023266177192 Jonny
Thank you sooo much, I continually poured half a kettle of boiling water over the plastic attachment and it came off so easily, I am assuming it was due to the expansion of the plastic due to the heat! Worked a treat, solved my problem in a couple of minutes
Hi if you have the one with power boost switch the led isn’t too important. You clearly have power going to it from somewhere so I would use this video to check 1. Switch… just to rule out. 2. Carbon brushes (this wouldn’t have been a sudden swathe it would have been a lot of motor farting and smelling) 3. PCB (circuit board) … by far the most common part to cause issues on your model) skip to around 7mins on the video and try bypassing the whole thing as shown) Jonny
If you have model with LED and it’s on then the issue is the switch 90% of the time. Check this video to fix for free… ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i7gYwRiFapE.htmlsi=0PyRYo3-xu7vBPJ3 If you have no look let me know and share as much info as you can.
You’re more than welcome. I’m sad as my Jose sales have dropped, but at the end of the day it’s better to save people money and less plastic in the ground 😊
Is it the push down on off bottom with the red cover which you press? If so there are quite basic. The switch either gets stuck on or off…. If it’s still “clicking” when you press it on and off the power lid may be with the cable, rewind contacts or even motor. Let me know what symptoms you have and also see this video for more help….
This video really helped! We worked out it was the broken contacts. Got new contacts and new cable ( just in case) via Henry Bags. Thanks so much. Saved us a few £££££😊
If you have low suction. 1. Change filter (or at least bang any dust out) 2. New bag. 3. Check for blockages by adding hose, then pipes, then tool… to see where the suction drops. 4. If you have air leak on hose at the joint, get the tightened up. See hose video here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8xA37wKR4gw.htmlsi=HJRKvA_z0aofrZ_x Any other questions just ask Jonny
Followed your tips, took the wires of the connectors on the on off switch and high and low, cleaned them with wet and dry sandpaper, put the Hoover back together. Switched on and shocked that I now have it up and running again. Thank you so much for putting life back into my Henry.
