Scientist was Waaay ahead of the game considering he was the youngest of them all and still is ahead of the game. Bunny Lee (R.I.P.) said it best. "Scientist is the KING 👑 of DUB." Yes I think even Jamaicans might not know. There are lots of artists we recognise but he doesn't seem to be one of them. I only know of him in relation to artists who died violently. It is sad how some of them end up. Possibly due to not being paid well, they end up in criminal activity

@moedemama,I'm confused everyone in the film is saying he was a great producer. How did he get that reputation if he was never around the studio. You need to back up your talk with facts.

@@MrMaxwood Junjo only publicized the artists. He never took a large interest in the actual "production" of the music. It's the same way for the Yellowman album 'Zungguzungguguzungguzeng'; Junjo took the photo of him (probably not even him, was Beth Lesser most likely) around the school-children, but wasn't present (majorly) in any of the actual studio work for that album. Real "producer" should be Soldgie. Same for Linval Thompson. He's made music, so it gives him a different background of expertise, but it's majorly in the same vain. They both got credited for and get royalties off of Scientist's albums that were reissued because VP are vampires. Greensleeves (Bought by VP) remixed majority of the albums that were sent to them. King Yellowman Meets the Mighty Josey Wales becomes Yellowman Vs Josey Wales?? Thank god no dancehall music got its way to Island Records. They would have fucked it up completely, just like they did for Catch A Fire by Bob and Marcus Garvey for Burning Spear. There is no real positive light at the end of the tunnel besides to try and enjoy the music.

@@lion8608 Thank you very much. Junjo's works which were mostly released Internationally on Greensleeves must be worth millions. That man ruled dancehall and had his signature on every #1 hit from say 1981 to 1985.....at least. I know VP has purchased Greensleeves. But Junjo's family need to dig into this.
