Same. Henry Mancini’s version of Moon River is the very best version hands down. It was one of the very most popular instrumentals of1961. I turned 8 back then. Every time I listen to it, I always think about the Susquehanna River in Northeastern Pennsylvania from Towanda, PA to Naticoke,PA.
That kiss, down the rain, in some nameless street of a dark Manhattan...that kiss frozen in the eternity, who made many people believed in that thing that can be called magic of cinema.....
makes me cry as well.....memories of my 10 year old self and hearing this on the radio 📻 in our kitchen. My parents, my brothers, my Grandma....60 yrs later, I still love this song 😔🎵🎶🎵🎶
My dad took me to see this one when first released I was a lot younger then, I turn 68 on the First of Feb. I watched it on New Years eve. Breakfast at Tiffany's never gets old. My path in life crossed with Patricia Neal not once but twice. One of my fond memories of my working life.
This song really affects me emotionally. From the very first tome I heard it, I cried uncontrollably, and still do. I don't understand why, but I do. It's a beautiful song. Only 3 or 4 songs have that affect on me and this is one of them. :(
This tune to me seems to embody the feeling of peace, hope, future, memories, what might have been and what may be. it makes me ponder every time I hear it.
Ahhhhh yes, the voices of The Ray Charles Singers. No no, not THAT Ray Charles, a different man who formed, lead, arranged & made his " Singers " the very top of the fine background singers from the 40's, 50's, 60's, & even the 70's. The Johnny Mann Singers-----------The Ray Coniff Singers-----The Anita Kerr Singers--------The StarLighters-----The Modernaires------The Pied Pipers------The Blossoms------ all of these groups / choruses, played a key part in making the music of those years unforgettable, as evidenced by how many of today's " Reactors " all over the world are discovering the music I & my generation, grew up to. ----------------------MJL, 76 y/o
Every night that we are ending the ship at work we are playing this song... The first song... Is so beautiful and lovely... I really love it.. Make me so sad and happy together... Ι dedicate this song to my lost love..... I will love you forever
Essa lindíssima música foi imortalizada também no filme de Audrey Hepburn, uma das mais belas e talentosas atrizes internacionais que o mundo conheceu. ❤️💐
It's funny, but I have noticed that the last year of a decade a change is happened about music, fashion, cars, hair combs, movies for example. I notice that 1959 marks a difference in music orchestra. 1959 is part of '60s way of things, for example this song, wich it sounds like timeless, not old. I can see the same fenomenum in 1969, music and style is very similar to the furter decade. 1979 Ford Mustang is same lines designes of 80s cars. 1989 Thunderbird shows how cars will be into '90s era. Music happens the same. It's just my point of view. Christ, Stgo CL
Good points, Decades aren’t just the binary 0-9 format, in many cases some believe the 1950s didn’t really end until the Beatles arrived in the US In 1964, in Britain the 80s started in 1979 with the arrival of Thatcher
