I chatted to Henry about drugs and other things. Shot at The Red Loft in DTLA. Please hit the "Like" button and subscribe for more fabulous stuff. / jaywalkingtheworld • Juicy J interview, for... - Another of my interviews.
Agreed, he's the type of person we need in government, someone who's interested in something other than himself, and has the logic and intellect to make better decisions.
@@sajjadhusain4146 Normally, I hate to stereotype people based on their opinions and their names -- However, based on your small-minded, narrow-minded insulting opinion where you stereotype other people for their personal problems, I think it is fair to stereotype you in return - let me guess, by any chance, are you religious? My guess, from your opinion and your name, is that you are. For example, to test this : If I said that Allah is a piece of shit, and Allah can suck my dick, and that only moronic robots believe in dumb shit like Allah, and that Mohammad was born from a donkey's cunt, and his mother was a donkey and his father was a dog - would it mean anything to you?
@@sajjadhusain4146 How about the repulsive way in which your fucked up religion treats women. Don't talk me about drugs and how repulsed you are by it, until you start treating women and LGBTQ people with respect. You are a piece of shit.
I agree with Henry Rollins. I am Straight Edge and I feel we must stop locking people up for drug related charges! Prison should be for child molesters and violent criminals only.
@@shaneyoung3407 everything exept ignorance is ok.........Meth has been around and widely used for 100 years or so.....is it good for you?........no...its synthetic.......did it keep the very few pilots who fought the battle of Britain able to not only function but win that conflict awake enough to do the job?...yes...yes it did should all drugs be legalised?...yes they should...but they should be of the best quality and prescribed ..de-stigmatised and educate the people about them.......should we live in a society that doesn't make you wanna take them?...yes........that would be the next step.......don't bore me with picking on my spelling or puncuation enliven me with a discussion.........
Joe Pass Forget about Matt and low bars. Rollins is a great guy, but a truly great guy-one of the greats in all history, who is no longer with us-is Joe Pass, jazz guitar extraordinaire.
Yes, I thought the exact same thing. I think and speak the exact way Henry does albeit much more abrasive and sharp- something I truly wish I was 'not!' I now take two seconds to think- how would Henry deliver this, and then express myself.
@Sheridan Isashitstain The USA is the largest exporter of Wheat. The USA contributes the most financial foreign aid in the world. The USA has by far the most per capita productive economy on earth. The USA is the number one destination of poor, destitute, oppressed, emigrants.
Thanks Stephen. Thanks Henry. I'm 60 now and I'm not sure how I'll feel when I'm retired or if I should really retire at all. It's a strange time, so I appreciate the insight.
I find this man so incredibly attractive! Seriously! Having something intelligent to say. I could just sit and listen to him for ages! It's a fantasy I have. Sitting on a couch with coffee and Henry and just listen, talk and listen to great music in the background. It would be awesome!
I like him.. Mostly Old people i know is really ignorant couse they are afraid with changes.. But henry is really open and willing to discuss what's matter in life
Iggy Pop, Patti Smith, John Lydon, even rapist Marilyn Manson, they're all pretty smart. But yeah.. I see what you mean, musicians in the spotlight today aren't too clever..
Couldn't agree more. I remember staying awake with my cassette radio on standby, waiting for the new Fall, Joy Division or Bhundu Boys release. Great days.
Almost predicting the covid situation, Henry is a super intelligent man and more people should take note of what he says.i also want to thank him for his admiration of Britain as im a Welshman and proud of our heritage.
@@nothx962 thanks for kind words Aaron, your name is a Welsh name pronounced eye-ron here.things are not so good here thanks to a second spike of covid and my local town of Bridgend goes back into lockdown tomorrow at 6pm, my health is good and I am happy in myself.take care and stay safe my friend 😉👍
i was never into punk. was a raver. punk kids bullied me. but im now getting into it and, bless my soul, they're nerds! (who work out). henry rollins may just be the coolest celeb we got, folks. I do think he's too smart for Earth and I think he knows that too... but it's important for us regulars to get neckup checkups when we start getting too into Salesforce or Dave & Busters.
I stopped this video once he started talking about the Fall. Heard one song from This Nation’s Saving Grace; bought the album then listened to it on Spotify. My mind is blown after an hour of pure joyous music and now I’m here to watch the rest of Henry’s video.
@@gc8972b I just mean, the guy has been through some traumatic shit. That's what made him who he is. Otherwise he'd probably still be Henry Garfield, and work at Hagen Dazs.
0:50 homicide is down due to advances in trauma medicine; we are NOT becoming more civilised as a society, lols 12:50 - 17:20 this is the most inspiring reminder to get on with things; SO glad i came back to listen to this a second time
I’m glad he said the thing about retro-active decriminalization. If you took away my misdemeanor drug charges, and the block of the employment UA, I could maybe get a good job!
I get Henry & agree on a lot of subjects. I'm Australian & have been both Priviledged & homeless. Life is a strange game. Any questions. I'll be around. I honestly don't believe life is a game. I have so much to say . I'll let Henry say most of it.
"I don't pay much attention to humans unless they're young. Then I'm uncle Henry and I play with them. But once they're adults I don't understand them." BRO WHAT
Still love listening to Rollins. I don't agree with him on a few things (he's occasionally full of shit), but even when I disagree I still appreciate the fact that he Thinks! Also a great motivational speaker who has gotten me going more than once with regards to exercise, health and just keeping busy with the next cool thing.
It was amusing to hear him recall his pot experience about 18 minutes in, but he embraced sobriety and physical health/wellness early on, to each their own
I’ve been in jail and more then half are in there for the most ridiculous reasons and there in there with the 30% truly bad ones that deserve to be in there and they get treated the same as them! A man who didn’t pay fines treated same or worse then a rapist! It’s nonsense and people think there in jail let them rot
Mick Z You have been dupped by ‘conservatives’ and the big government boogyman hoax. They are the worst for expanding government. Passing laws to invade not only your home but your body.
Happy to hear Pukkelpop being mentioned by this wonderful man. Small correction: it's a Belgian festival that we are very proud of 🇧🇪😁(not in Holland or Germany)
my band went on tour with the Rollins band back in the 90s. I smoked weed and drunk beer constantly backstage. The only artist that told me not to smoke weed around him was Iggy Pop, which I ignored
This man has my utmost respect. The only thing I've ever wanted to ask though and I guess I should just look it up online but I've never really heard exactly what happened to the original Rollins band? But Henry I support any and all projects you have going forward your my idol for as long as I can remember now thank you for being you. Stay amazing
As an ex-addict, I tried not only every recreational drug there was I was addicted to opiates and took cocaine constantly and alcohol is just as dangerous a drug as heroin or cocaine, so heroin and cocaine being illegal and alcohol being legal is absurd to me. Also don't believe what people say I know lots of people that can take cocaine or heroin once and a while and never get addicted. Even heroin, what gets people addicted to heroin is taking it to frequently and then you have to take it to fight withdrawals but alcohol is no different, what makes you a serious alcoholic is drinking to not have to handle a hangover.
I have to say that Henry is one intelligent guy. He sees a perspective on many things that not many people already see; and has solid reasoning behind his views that keeps him from sounding like a crackpot conspiracy theorist. People have a history of labelling these guys who come from the punk rock scene and heavy metal scene as misfits and brain dead junkies who are mad at the world for no particular reason. If you take the time to listen to these guys, either interviews, reading their lyrics, their opinions on social/political issues, etc; you begin to see that a lot of them really do have a good head on their shoulders and know what they’re talking about. They might be misfits and angry at the world; but there is a reason for it. Sometimes you just need to dig into their story to see what’s up instead of basing opinions on what you see on the surface.
AxeMan808 imagine if he ran for Governor or President ... I feel sorry for whoever runs against him during the debates. He’d tear them all to shreds and leave the question so completely answered that he’d even present his opponents point of view before it was delivered and explain why it’s logic is flawed. Not that I think he’d bullshit anyone, but I suspect he’d deliver a line of BS with so much confidence that even the experts in the topic would be doubting themselves. lol
The big difference between the US and Britain has less to do with artistic contribution, more to do with how often the society as a whole gets it right when it comes to honoring its national treasures. America overlooks its best, like Henry Rollins.
I like the selective outrage, Ice-T is in a documentary talking about being a pimp, turning girls out, smacking them in the face, but its OK because it's Ice-T.
Henry should go head to head with ted nugent. The nooge could even bring his crossbow to defend himself against Henry's intellect. He'd miss though. His hands would shake as Henry just stared at him
ALL THE RECORD SHOPS ARE CLOSING DOWN IN ENGLAND,, MY TOWN HAD FIVE DIFFERENT SHOPS GROWING UP NOW THERE IS NONE,,,,, WHAT HENRY IS SAYING WAS TRUE ,BUT ITS REALLY DIEING OUT ,WHICH IS VERY SAD
Mr. Rollins, I'm writing this just to let you know that it is possible to speak about the things we all love hearing you speak about without taking a stab at faith, just as it's possible for someone like myself, a 43 yr old white man, musician, artist, a former heroin addict of 19 years to find God and still love the two gay men you mentioned in the condo, to not believe their sin is responsible for hurricanes. It's insulting and inaccurate. It may be appropriate for Westboro Baptist Church but not for true believers. I was an atheist for 35 years until a miraculous event happened in my life and I was converted, 3 years, 3 months and 3 days after my conversion, I was in SE DC on 13th & T st. by Good Hope rd. and two young black men asked to pray over me, after I just bought $40 worth of heroin, so I said; "Absolutely." That was 51 months, 3 days ago and I haven't even thought about using. So, after coming to terms with the fact that I would probably die with a needle in my arm, just like 4 of my Family did in the past 2 years, to be liberated from that death sentence, I'm a bit confounded how a man of your intellect could only see faith as the typical stereotypes we all see and hear. I love Jesus and I love gay people. Where else can you find unity in diversity? In closing, I wish everyone reading this could have seen that very moment when the two young black men and one white dude were jumping up and down in a group hug in the hardest hood on earth. I still love you tho! Thanks for reading.
