I just bought a Henry Silver Eagle .17HMR , my grandfather would have loved it. and he still loves it. bc he’s still alive. and we are going to play with it this weekend :)
.. I just purchased this Henry Silver Eagle rifle yesterday - pictures don't justify the pure beauty of this wonderful Henry rifle .!. great video .......
Guanfei Of course there are exceptions to the rule. Many extremely old guns are not safe to fire because they weren't designed to be used with modern ammo. As far as collectibles, I was mainly referring to new, ornate guns such as the silver eagle.
unitedgray Plenty of reasons not to shoot collectable guns. I know a guy who owns an immaculate 1941 Luger, and an immaculate 1944 Walther P38. They look almost as if they came off of the assembly line yesterday. Those are guns he plans to keep in as good of condition for as long as possible.
***** And if I owned one of those cars, I would drive it. What is the purpose of owning a car and not drive it? I have zero interest in buying a car to look at.
bought one similar, the "evil roy edition" for my dad for christmas, he LOVES it, this is a good option for those who like the golden boy but fall into the "it's too pretty to shoot...or even touch" catagory, much more practical and easier on the nerves when your buddy wants a try at the range. ALSO i wouldn't run out for a 22 magnum on these, the 22 is much more versitile in that you can essentially shoot like you have a silencer on with some of the shorts out there, and though they are frowned upon in semi-autos because it beats up the action, the lever action is essentially a quick bolt action which allows you to shoot all the stingers, yellow jackets, and viper rounds you want.
My first gun was also a .22, but it was a revolver left for me by my mom's dad who died before I was old enough to actually remember him. My second gun was a 10/22 and my dad's dad gave me that one when I was 6 or 7.
every one should own a henry they are the best fit and smooth operation that last several life times. And most important made in the USA or not made at all !!!!! i myself own 5 of there rifles. Eric another great video
Eric, I really like when you guys use tracer ammo. Your videos are always great anyway, but it was an easy way to see where those little. 22 rounds were landing. Keep up the great work!
great video! 22 lr ammo is still too damn expensive I love my henry classic 22 my pops bought for me as a Christmas present when I was little, would love to have another as well
It's so beautiful. I would have an entire roomful of .22 rifles if I can afford all of them. Thank you for treating us to this slender beauty, Eric and Chad (whom I assume is behind the camera).
Is the Silver Eagle receiver actually solid nickle or is it like the Golden Boy with the standard Zinc alloy receiver and a brass (in this case nickle) cover plate?
never owed a riffle but i just got to have one of those silver Henrys to hang on my wall and go out to the range to shoot it be pretty cool i would rather it be a 38/357 though if i was to buy one
Now all that is left to show us is that Henry Pump .22.... I'd love for you to get your hands on one of those. I'm in the market for one and I'd like to hear your impressions.
An old single action western styled .22 revolver was the first handgun i got too shoot. A lever action .22 rifle would also been so cool as a kid. (And now i guess! :)). Perhaps not this however as its a bit expensive.
I picked up 2 black Ruger Wranglers and love them . Wanted a little some thing to go with them. Found a Henry Classic at Wal-Mart H 001 lever action. The Wranglers were $199 each and the Henry Classic was $299. I added a Simmons .22 Mag 4x32 mm. scope to the Henry. All this for the price of 1 Golden Boy. Loved the single action revolvers and loved the lever guns as a kid and at 66years old still love them. I don"t want one of those over priced wall hangers .
Shot a Golden Boy before, it was really a fine shooter. It wasn't mine though it was a friends, they bought it from a father who was selling it because their kid flunked a class or something.
Did Chad hit them all? The splash on that last one from the camera's perspective looked right. I don't know... The wager was who could shatter the most. Pretty sure that was Eric and pretty sure he was under Chad's time. If you can't declare a winner and won't have a tie-breaker then I say, "Lunch on Chad. Drinks on Eric."
Nice demo Fella's. I notice with the heavy octagon barrel that it also shoots much quieter than thin round barrel's. I almost get bored shooting my Golden boy as it just don't miss. Sight acquisition with buckhorns is fast and easy on the eye. Henry is a top quality manufacture hands down. The receivers are solid not plated.
Wow I really like this rifle!!! It looks like it shoots really good!!! Great Fun Video !!!! I have a Henry with the octagon barrel, but it doesn't shoot quite as well as this one. Probably the sight challenged shaky old operator. I got it at small gun shop in North Missouri. Mr. Anthony Imperiato was there at this celebration sale of Henry rifles. KEEP ON MAKING THESE GREAT VIDEOS!!!
Awesome video guys, as always. I had a question though, "is Eric the father of Chad"? I had always thought this, but it confused me when he said, "even if it is with your camera man". Thanks for vids and the entertainment, not to mention the multitude of knowledge, y'all have been giving for the last decade or so. God Bless ya guys.
Henry or Marlin, which one should I buy. This is just a question that only I can answer, I know. But this is what I'm thinking today, as I want a 357/38 spl. rifle. I have a Henry H001 in .22 cal. it is beeyooteeful ! Good video Eric & Chad, thanks for this.
Could you guys do a video with cut away firearms explaining exactly how each action works mechanically-ie: short recoil principle, direct gas impingement, lever actions, pump actions etc
I have a question about glasses. Are those shooting glasses or your regular glasses and if so what techniques are you using for shooting distance? I'm trying to get used to shooting with glasses on
In America are so many guns available for everybody. In Europe we have to have gun licenses for guns like this. Btw. we have to make same license for this sweet little 22. and for .50bmg. :)
vampire847 Same for me. Might be a personal opinion, but its whats stopping me from buying a bigger caliber Henry rifle... Well that, and I already have a Winchester 1894. For me, one lever gun is enough and I have other guns higher on the list anyway ;)
when i take my Henry Evil Roy to the range, that dang little .22 gets passed around more than any other rifle. Every one just has to shoot it---maybe I should start charging $1.00 to evryone, it wold pay for all my range ammo
Never owned a lever action rifle, this one is beautiful....I'm a leftie though and my friends are telling me to get the Henry Long Ranger instead because it can take magazines.... :(
beautiful gun i have a henry lever action 22 standard with walnut stock and its a great reliable gun but as nice as that silver plated version looks i can never see the point of special editions great if you have tons of money and want to start a collection but as a working gun are you really going to go bush with it?
Hi iv8888 crew, I think many other people agree with me as I say this but could you please do a review on a Henry lever action frontier with the octagonal barrel in 22lr. Hope you can get around to the video, and keep em coming, thanks!
He ^^ is incorrect. All it is is the size of the casing. .22 short has the smallest casing. .22 long has a casing bigger than the .22 short but shorted that the .22 long rifle
Beautiful gun and nice video. Quick question though, the way you pronounced lever, is that a southern style pronouncing it like "leever"? Nothing wrong with it at all I'm just curious.
Joseph Duenas Different spots of the country where we say "leever". That's how I say it in SW Ohio, really popular in Kentucky. Just like how a washer is a warsher.
I’m a registered Democrat but I love guns. I’m all for law abiding citizens having firearms including assault rifles. There is a mental health crises in this country though.
