I was thinking that myself i’ve got a 22 semi automatic ross I gave $125 for now. That is budget. and I’ve also got the henry 22 LR lever action I give $370 and if it came down to either one, they both shoot great they’re both accurate, but when it comes to quality Henry all day every day.
I wanted a Henry 1T bad but fell short. I was stoaked to get a deal on a 01 for 40% off but thought about that 1T. This video was great & I look forward keeping my 01 for a long time.
We need Henry. Henry needs you. Get a Henry .22 near you!! The people need 22 hornet, and Henry wont ignore it!! Store it. Hunt boar with it. But theres more!! Check your local store!!!
I own a 1946 issue of a Marlin 39A in mint condition. We all know the fantastic reputation those guns have. How do these Henrys stack up against a Legend?
Round barrel is obviously faster due to the aerodynamic coefficient properties that Henry implemented. To make up for the Hexagonal barrel, they added an extra round, longer range due to longer barrel, and higher muzzle velocity. Yeah, that's it, that's what I'm going with.
How about the octagon barrel pump. Best I ever shot open site is my Rem Model 12C. Perfect sites. One inch square at 50 yards is not a challenge. Have a Weatherby semiauto w scope the girls shoot empty 22 hulls off posts at 25 meters. First time they outshot all the boy cousins, the moaning was unbelievable. Chuckle!!! Todays biggest problem with .22's is the sights, pistols especially. The sight is ten times bigger than the target it would hit if the beads and rear sites were finer. How do you shoot a candle out w your pistol if your front bead would cover ten of them wide? Even the old super accurate Browning Nomad has a too wide front blade. I used to kill blue grouse w my single six, then an old guy handed me an old H & R and says kill that rabbit for me at 20 yards. I thought impossible till I lined up the sites. Fereaking magic!!!! One dead bunny first shot. Most people have no idea how accurate a .22 really is with the right sites. Sill looking for an old time 9 shot .22 shooter. Come on Henry take the challenge. I have one Henry already, the Eagle Scout Rifle, stunningly beautiful. Make me buy more!
@@jimmieburleigh9549 when you want to live out your yeehaw dreams, but can’t afford an1860 Henry or a Winchester 73, you’ll take anything you can get. Later on, I might have enough money to decide between the two (and it’ll be a REALLY tough decision to make) but lever guns themselves just _feel_ historic
Now that would be my pride and joy if they made one in 20,16, or 12 guage, would be devistatiingly powerful enough for anything I come across in my area and fun
These are great rifles...either one would be a great purchase. Beautifully made from quality materials by a great company...Henry Repeating Arms is a good bet for your money!
Just awesome as usual for a Henry. I have six of various types including the 1st generation military theme. I prefer that version because of the insignias. The 357/38 lever action is a ball to shoot, as the others are.
The octagon barrel being heavier and longer also delivers a quieter report . The Golden boy and Silver boy is awesome in design if you prefer a bit more character. Thanks Henry.
Great video. I have the H001T model and have put thousands of rounds through it. It doesn’t like Winchester ammo, but blows right through CCI, Federal, and Aguila. I added a Skinner peep sight and it has greatly improved my accuracy.
What do you shoot with it (targets, varmints etc.)? Also what kind of CCI ammo do you use and some thoughts about them (different CCI offerings) if you don't mind?
Got my H001 because: it's a Henry; it's MiA; it's a lever gun. We keep rabbits and chickens, so my primary application for my Henry is for dispatching varmints (racoons, possums and squirrels). I love that it cycles S/L/LR, since I like to use quiet .22 ammo, so I have shorts, longs and CCI Quiet-22 as well as bulk standard velocity .22LR ammo, Mini-Mags, etc.
I have various rifles, brands, cal., etc., and i have to say that Henry is tops when it comes to quality. My .22 lever action Henry is what i always grab for when planning to go out plinking in the woods. It is so solid feeling, very accurate, and to be honest, Henry rifles are the best on the market.
Just purchased the H001 and love it. Accurate right out the box shooting off my shoulder. Indoor range was "only" 25 yards but the groupings were good on 8 and 6 inch targets. 10 and 15 yards with bottle silhouettes where on point. Enjoy this "cowboy gun" very much.
The Henry standard 22 lever action rifle retails about $350 I've seen them as low as 295 depending on where you buy them it's a great little rifle I mean who wants to spend $8,900 for 22 rifle give me a break 💯👍🇺🇸
Saw one for $316 at my Walmart yesterday. The wife is mad but I don't think I can resist. If it's still there today when I go back its mine👍🏻😂 It was there and I bought it. Now of course I'm looking at some cheap ar-15s online 👌🏼
Henry has a nice thing going on until Sept. 19, where you can create your own personal serial code for your rifle (12 characters max) I ordered one through Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore, and it's supposed to be delivered sometime in early December, or before Christmas. It's being sold as the H001 "Heirloom Rifle".....$319 plus free shipping. Just can't wait until it arrives. I have a lot of respect for the Henry brand and what they represent. Anthony Imperato is a true patriot that's committed to a Made in USA philosophy.
Love me some Henry, have one in just about every caliber, thought I was good, know I gotta start all over with the side gates, got the 30-30 (love it), keep them coming, really want the 357 & 44 mag’s in all weather, side gates. But most of all the 45-70, pleeease. ❤️👍🏼🤠
Before I watch the video, I would like to comment that in this very moment I've been looking at a Henry lever action. Wouldn't look at anything else. I was debating between these very two rifles. Perfect timeing. Thank you. Ps leaning towards octagon only for the barrel length. Feels more like an adult rifle
Hopefully, you at least got a little bit of insight out of this video towards the end. You really can't go wrong with either, but there's no doubt that the Frontier is an upgrade.
Hi Dan &22Henry Plinkster, I have a Henry H0001 with octagon barrel. Not the fancier Frontier model. But, that’s fine. Just having the rifle that I do, as it is, is pllllenty fancy for me. To my eye, the external beauty of “MY Henry” lies in its first impression-first glance. In its super well-made best American, walnut stock. The octagon barrel is a nod and hat tip to Henry’s very rich history. The barrel, and the lever action, they proudly say American. The fit and finish are supreme. The attention to detail, mated with the pride of Henry’s American craftsmen as they build each Henry rifle to its final magnificent creation. That’s just the outside. Without going into a tear-down to talk about the inner mechanics, just trust me. They are accurate rifles! The lever action feels solid and substantial as it cycles its way through the cartridge pickup, battery, firing, and ejection of the spent cartridge. These All-American, Hand-Made rifles are how America used to produce THE most firearms in the world. When I hold MY Henry, I’m very pleased knowing these experts in their fields of expertise are STILL doing it the right way. The American Way! (Wow! I just wrote out the 1st Draft of what could be your next commercial. LOL❤️🇺🇸❤️)
This is absolute proof of one thing. Henry's success is absolutely selfevident. these 2 goof balls, including one that works for the company, can get out here and completely Jack around , and , have us watch the "entire thing" Simply, Because we love henry so much.
The Henry classic carbine starts at $378, the Frontier at $512 and while both are exceptionally well made, they can hardly be called budget friendly guns. However you could buy from Ruger a 10/22 carbine with Weaver 3x9 scope/rings, spare magazine and gun case for $399. Just $21 more than the Henry classic alone. That's budget value with a vengeance.
It depends on where you live. I used to have a 10/22 "Sporter" model with the walnut checkered stock. Then one day CA proposed legislation that would have declared all semiautos with detachable magazines to be "assault weapons." Feeling that I had to get rid of it while I could, I took it to a dealer and traded it in for a Henry H001. The next thing that happened was the bill was modified to exempt rimfires, then the governor vetoed the whole bill. Anyway I ended up with a Henry, and have purchased several more since then. Most of the 10/22's that I own now are made from 80% receivers. Another thing about the 10/22 is since it is the most popular and most customized .22 available, you can go broke with all the aftermarket parts that are available. I would say that the Henry is better if you want to shoot it. The 80% 10/22 is great if you like to play with your lathe, mill, drill press, etc. Some folks prefer one activity, others prefer the other hobby.
your shooting speed test was unfair. Your blue shirt helped a ton. Everyone knows wearing a blue shirt will ALWAYS make you shoot faster than someone wearing a black shirt. This is so unfair I can't watch anymore.
I have the Iver Johnson lever action made in Germany that is now the H001. I would love to know how and when Henry got the tooling and the history of this design.
I have a 22 Magnum Golden Boy, with a great scope. I can shoot Far, Cheap, and Quickly, with a deadly Punch. Ammunition for this is so cheep, it’s hard to stop shooting. Take my advice from a retired Marine GySgt. If you like to shoot a lot. You will be glad you bought a Henry.
I find the octagon barrel on the .357 Big Boy to be quite heavy for this 76 year old with week lungs. But it's a beautiful collector's item. So I bought two more, one in .44 Mag and one in .45 Long Colt. I'm sure their value will continue to climb.
picked up a new 10/2023 H001, nice rifle but the sights SUCK.. front too short and wide, rear too tall and notch too wide, had to modify to make useful..now it's decent...
Why would you associate your company with 22plinkster? You're only as good as the company you keep. The guy is a crook. He takes compensation from companies like CCI and then misleads his viewers into thinking he is doing independent testing of their products.
I have both of these guns but the HOO1 worked fine the first year, but the next fall it started jamming, now it jam's 99% of the time, doesn't matter what kind of ammo used. And yes the gun has been thoroughly cleaned.
Bought a used stock off a H001 from EBay. In process to SBR my Mares Leg. Why? Just because. Love my Henry’s. I do have one issue with one. I have a pump action .22 and I get bit by the bolt coming back every so often.
Please get us a $300 .22lr Why am I harping on this I have never owned a henry, I saw the garden gun at my bi mart for 300 bucks, was excited till I saw it was not rifled heart sank. Help US lower budget Amercans get An Amercan Classic. I will nag you till you make it so.( You know you can)
I have two of these rifles , a golden boy and a black boy, i bought my mate a silver boy and she bought her niece a golden boy.... all of these rifles are superb and we use them all often.... thanks Henry and 22 plinkster.....you rock!!!!
I just bought a Henry .22 wmr octogonal Frontier. There is much I really like about this rifle, however in the process of sighting it I was disappointed to discover the instruction manual advises to use a rubber mallet to adjust the rear sight for windage. I don't find using a rubber mallet acceptable as the rear sight will eventually wear and become loose using that method. I want to stay with iron sights on my Henry. Any recommendation on replacement rear sight?
I really want a long barrel Henry .22 Frontier. I’d probably sell all my other .22’s other than a cheap savage semi auto. Well, I COULD sell the rest. 😂
22plinkster is the biggest fraud of any gun channel. He takes sponsorships from ammunition and gun companies then pretends to do independent reviews for those same companies. Taking sponsorships is fine but declare it in your review videos.
Think Marlins 3 times the rifle. Disapointed wasn't real brass for the money! At the new took it out of the box, butt plate had bunch of sharp nicks sticking out!
I have the 'T' version, with the bigger 'loop' handle and a Marbles tang sight. I also did a case hardened look to the receiver. Oh my....] what a beautiful rifle! $1k would not take it off my hands.
Henry was never budget you're literilly paying for the name like all these fashion designer stuff out there. 22lr in henry where im at is 600 and thats for a basic ass henry 22lr without dros fee. A ruger 10/22 and savage are 340 in 22lr.
The H001 is absolutely faster to load because the extra 90 bucks you save can buy you a bigger bucket and more ammo to stick your hands in and grab without precision! ha ha.
There's no such thing as a budget Henry rifle. There are less expensive Henry rifles and then there are more expensive Henry rifles. That said, there are no budget Henry rifles.
at 50 yards my h001 is pretty darn accurate i have a scope mounted on it bc the iron sights it came with are kinda dookie and cant really ajust the way i want them to so im buying some hiviz iron sights for better adjustment
every 22 i have seen have a broken tube magazine. if you own one check yours. where you load it on the back side most of them have a crack. inspect the tube good and send them back. i have 2 and both of them are bad.
When I was buying my 1990 Honda Accord EX there was another customer in the showroom that said he had one and it was great except the plastic knobs for the heater/AC controls kept breaking. Now, 30 years later, I have not had any problems with those knobs, and I even have the original clutch in it. It pays to take care of your stuff and not beat it up. I have a Marlin/Glenfield 60 that I bought used, and several Henry lever actions, and have not had any such problems.
