So much is known about Henry and Eleanor's sons. It was a pleasant surprise indeed to learn more of the life of one of their daughters, and her role in Western history.
One great aspect of your work is that the depictions give an impression that the characters are aware of being brought to life. Nervous stares are replaced by gentle smiles and the eyes seem to survey modern surroundings. Great work!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, this is my lucky day Henry and Mathilda are my ancestors it´s interesting, exciting and fun to see your how you recreate their faces.
Fantastic video, and brilliant to learn about more European mediaeval history! And I enjoy learning about the sisters etc of Kings, like Matilda here and her husband, who was obviously important as a Duke - I don't think 'conventional' history tells you enough about things like these occurances, because they prefer to stick the kings and queens.
I absolutely loove this music track - it’s from one of my all time faves - The Kingdom of Heaven - and you’ve done yourself proud with these figures from History - please can we have some more ? ♥️
That looks like as awesome pieces of work, it can be surely fascinating to watch this every day. 🆗️, Henry the Lion was Frederick Barbarossa's cousin.. I can be wondering😮🤔... Henry the Lion and Matilda of England became parents of Otto IV, Holy Roman Emperor from 1209 until his deposition in 1215, King of Germany,he was crowned in Aachen in 1198 and married twice, both marriages remained childless. I am still curious to see/look Otto IV 's facial reconstruction next time as possible. By the way, I am always proud of your wonderful job on these events in 12th century. I can be fond of being really interested in.. I am cordially thanking you for big interests about Henry the Lion and Matilda of England !!! Woooooow!!
At 4:16 of the Video: "Lower Saxony" didn't exist in 1180. It was "Saxony". The Saxony in Eastern Germany only came into existence AFTER the real Saxony was demolished by Emperor Barbarossa due to those Events and Lower Saxony was "founded" after WW2. The City of Brunswick wasn't founded by Henry the Lion.
Excellent work! First time to my knowledge that Mathilda and Henry have been brought to life. Mathilda was named after her paternal grandmother, the Empress Mathilda.
@@panagiotisconstantinou Yes! I do not know of any statue of her. Her body was buried in an abbey in Normandy and later moved to the Cathedral in Rouen. There is a plaque only next to her burial location.
