The way he got the role of Mork was so Robin. When producer Garry Marshall asked Robin to take a seat during his audition, Robin proceeded to sit on his head a la Mork. Garry knew right then he had found Mork and cast him. Garry made the sitting on his head bit a part of the character and it became famous. Garry later wryly commented that Robin was the only alien who auditioned for the role.

Fittingly enough, Robin starred in a film titled "Being Human", "a huge stretch for [him]." RW

These words from Henry Winkler are absolutely EVERYTHING a Robin Williams fan could hope to hear. You just know everything he is saying here is 100% true, without, as Winkler says, "hyperbole." The man is not exaggerating because of the tragedy or anything. That was really what Robin Williams was like. I watched those episodes of Happy Days with Robin Williams when they aired, and the cast were not the only ones who knew they were in the presence of greatness. A star was born that week, and everyone who watched those two shows were blown away by him, and KNEW he would become an icon.

I got to meet Robin Williams while playing an extra in "Patch Adams" at UNC. He was funny even between takes and was always making us laugh. I am honored that I got to meet him and take part with him in a movie. He will be missed.

Robin Williams exploded on Happy Days like Henry WInkler did. Henry was also a comic genius. Where Henry's "Fonzi" character was a masterpiece caricature of a '50s motorcycle hoodlum with a heart of gold - Robin Williams was totally off the charts. He was without equal, the most original comedian ever. Yet, he was also one of the greatest dramatic actors of our generation. As Henry Winkler noted, Robin had boundless energy. He was one of a very select few you just couldn't take your eyes off of.

This is such a HUGE loss to the world !!! A class act a naturally humorous human being who would AD LIB like no other! He truly was the funniest person on this earth !!! He was julliard trained , but his humour came from deep inside , his long time friend and Juliard classmate was Christopher reeve. One of their teachers ? The legendary John Houseman , who was involved in the writing of a little film called CITIZEN KANE , from RKO .. Robin dealt with severe depression for a big part of his life , but I never ever thought he would take his own life. I feel so sad for him and all those he left behind. God bless him .

I. Think this disease LBD, he had just freaked him out. He thought he was going crazy. I watched a documentary on it. He didn't want people to see how sick he was. He wouldn't have been able to perform much longer. We need to remember him as he was. RIP Robin 😓 We miss you. I would have loved what he thought about Trump now. Probably calling him the orange Hitler.

I'm surprised Rachel Maddow hasn't mentioned Donald Trump in this interview.

Trump should not even be mentioned m, or deserves to be mentioned, in anything having to do with a wonderful human being as Robin Williams. This was 2010, long before bigfatorangefuck flop sweated onto our country.

If it weren't for Star Wars Garry Marshall wouldn't have created this Happy Days episode and if it weren't for that we wouldn't have Robin Williams.

Somebody else would have noticed Robin talent it was so great. Gary Marshall was lucky enough to have see it then.
