I have two Henson razors. The medium and the aggressive aluminum that I received on the same limited run as you. I find the aggressive is a little more efficient but not a huge difference. Not much blade feel for an aggressive razor either. So far I've tried the RK blades that came with it as well as the Astra SP and the Gillette Nacet. For me, I've found I got the best and smoothest shave from the Astra SP. I seemed to have gotten a few more nicks with with the RK. Before they came out with the RK blades just recently, Henson was recommending Astra SP blades for all of their razors. So, at the time, I bought 100 of them along with my medium razor about 4 months ago.
My first DE razor was the Hanson mild. Love it but want to try the medium. The aggressive only comes in the new model which at $250 is just a bit too expensive for me. 🇨🇦
It sounds like you were looking at the TI22. It's the same dimensions in a different material (titanium). The AL13 aggressive is still available in grey for about $70 US from various sources if you're interested, although apparently not from Henson's website.
Does the plastic spacer affect the gap. Also, do the (5 mg)? spacers available on ebay exactly fit the titanium insert diameter? I ask because somewhere in the shaving universe these questions were raised and I never read an answer. Thanks.
The spacer I have has an inside diameter of 5mm and outside diameter of 10mm. It fits perfectly. Because it goes between bottom plate and handle it doesn’t affect blade gap as long as tightened well.
I don’t have the Ti22 but I do have the Al13 aggressive. From what I can find, the plates are the same. The only difference would be the weight and the price. If I remember correctly aluminum is half the weight of titanium. I would love to be able to offer a real comparison, but I don't have the titanium.
