Great mount purchased a used one with the Rowan belt mod in the process of polar alignment southern hemisphere once weather permits.

April 1st post, although very accurate, when I got to guiding of under 1 arc-min, I was considering this a bit excessive. I get under 1 arc-sec. It is a good mount and I got mine over 11 years ago second hand.

Very good review, thank you Unfortunately, I bought the device and it turned out that the company (according to the seller's words) does not come with the manual controller. I think due to a lack of the chip or something like that. If I plug the Auto Guider with the tracking camera, it will burn out

I've been looking for a manual equatorial mount that can hold my 12 lb C6-N Newtonian without it shaking when I focus or move it with the slow motion handles. I looked at the CG-4 and for manual mounts that's the biggest one I can find in the USA unless I get something from overseas. I'm not sending any money to China and shipping from the EU is pretty expensive and the final cost is as much as a decent computerized mount. I don't want an electric mount unless it can be hand controlled if the electronics go out. I've got the scope on an AZ mount from Explorer Scientific, the Twilight One rated for 18 Bogus pounds. Rated for 18 and can't handle 12 and looking at the vixen saddle on the CG-4 that will be shaky too. I recoated my mirrors to 96-97% reflectivity and refigured my primary mirror to near perfect .986 Strehl with a wave to match. Shaky mounts rated for much higher than they really can handle pisses me off.

What exactly is the difference between the HEQ5 and HEQ5i? I know the HEQ5i has SyncScan Wifi conntection, but why does it cost less than the HEQ5? One would think that ths wifi connection would make it cost less

Can you tell me if you can also directly mount a DSLR camera onto it (without the telescope) ? If not are there mounts that can take telescopes and cameras?

Just bought eq 5 pro. Have 12v power supply. Plugged it in and it began to whistle ...zzzzzz whatever you want to call it. Is this norma ?

Can the mount also be controlled via the Asi Air plus with an Eqmod cable?

is modding it absolutely necessary? Or can I use it as is? I'm a beginner so I'm very wary fiddling with anything internally.

Yeah its good. Only thing that annoys me sometimes (thats unique to me) is I have to put away and resetup because of lack of space. Maybe if I have more space. Also why in pounds mate? Had to covert to kgs 😜 No plans getting a zwo cooled camera?
