Love this story! I just hit 5 months with 1,200 items listed and my sales are similar to Shawna's story. There are so many stories where success comes fast and I cannot relate. It is refreshing to know that a shop can turn around and become successful. I feel more energized and I am grateful to know that my shop still has hope. Perfect timing!

I gotta be honest. I wasn't sure about watching your videos because there were too many videos that had a "get rich quick" vibe to them. But I watched one of yours and been hooked ever since. When I heard you say, "This is NOT get rich video. It does take a lot of hard work." THAT sealed the deal for me. Your videos are always consice and gets straight to the point. Some of those other people's videos talk too much. No one wants to hear all that talking. And you give great step by step demos. It helps me a lot. Man when I tell you I have been grinding everyday with my etsy POD shop since this Aug and I finally got a couple of sales. Everyday I put on youtube and check to see if youve uploaded and if not I still sit and watch your videos over and over while I research and put up new listings. You have taught me so much Cassiy and this video made me emotional because Im doing EVERYTHING you have taught me to have a successful shop, but in the back of my mind Im scared that it wont work. Sorry to say this, but these two woman are being paid by Etsy to hood wink everyone who has started an Etsy shop in good faith. Only to find out they’ve wasted weeks or months of their lives. Etsy does NOT promote new stores. If you think you’re going to make a living out of this, don’t kid yourself, it’s a scam. Etsy have more than enough seller’s on the platform. They only need new people signing up, to keep up the pretense of it being a thriving market place for new sellers. It’s a major part of its business model… but in truth 9 out of 10 new sellers make NO money. There are people in this comment section joyfully sharing that they’ve finally made a sale after 2 months. To be clear, that means you’re in the negative with your business. You’ve paid Etsy for the privilege of being on their platform and you’ve paid the bank it’s monthly cost for simply having your account open. You’re losing money for the honor of saying that you have an Etsy business. Don’t believe me… Go on any Etsy forum and read what hundreds of people are saying.

Thank you for this video. Both of you show the real side of doing an online business. Especially when Shawna talked about going back to work after COVID. Because let be honest, I think, and this is just me, more than half of us did not want to go back to work. It's not because we liked staying home, well maybe some of us, but we realized how tired we are/were of the daily grind. I like what I do, I'm a legal assistant but it's not the same after COVID. Sorry for this being long, not trying to have a pity party. But your videos showed me I do not mind working hard for myself. Being creative and sharing it. So again, thank you to you both!

What a great interview! I have no sales, and I just keep listing and I'm already at 105 listings. My mentality is like yours, just keep going, there's no going back but forward. I opened my shop a bit late into getting sales, 12/30 but as you noted keeping consistent is key. I would love a follow up to see how she's doing a year or so from now.

This was fantastic. Im in the list list list phase. Im up to 85. I threw 20 up at first and waited.Had a Barbie up and Matel got me right outta the gate. Took it down and Nothing. Cassie I absolutely love your channel, thanks for the inspiring content. I followed some of your Christmas and Halloween strategies and am seeing gains, so thank you! In particular, copying a listing and switching up the thumbnails was an absolutely mind blowing moment for me. I do that every time now, so even with my full time job and kids, if I get just one design up, I at least have 3-4 listings. Should we limit our colors to avoid overloading people with options? If so, what are the most popular colors do you think? 3) Design size and placement. You've said you use a 4500 x 5400 canvas, but I notice you often don't use the whole canvas. Yes Kim! If I could do it over I would have gone full steam Christmas and switched directions come December 1st! Do your own versions of things that are trending and that you keep seeing pop up and then find some funny puns to use that not many other people are using! You got this! I have a question that is slightly off from this…except you mentioned it…What is the deal with Etsy allowing all the copyright/trademark infringing listings ?! Why don’t they remove them?! This is all great if you’re married and have a spouse who has insurance through work. You can make $4,000 profit, 30-40% is income taxable. If the USA had universal health insurance for everyone, being an entrepreneur would be so much easier for single people.

Yea there is always taxes and insurance to pay for. I pay $650/month for my family of three to have health insurance because we are self employed and pay taxes like everyone else. It's still better than working for someone else for the rest of my life in my opinion. There is no wrong way to do this, either you want to be an entrepreneur or you don't, no big deal! But both ways come with different challenges and frustrations.

Hi Mo! Thanks for watching! To answer your question, I would say everyone’s experience is different. I would recommend going through my videos first as you begin your store. A lot of my videos will be able to answer your questions, but definitely feel free to schedule a 1:1 once your store is open and you know what you need help with. :) I hope that makes sense!

I'm over 70 sales for doing this for 3/4 months but only sold one shirt & did get 5 stars but all my other sales have been my printable bridal shower games or scavenger hunt so haven't made a lot of money yet & it's all go back into Etsy I also found out you have to pay for the shirt & the money they pay to Etsy doesn't go to Printify, so if you're not making a lot of sales or have adds your out of pocket & shock no one has said this.

Congrats on the sale! 🎉 When you save/download your text only design, make sure you click “Transparent background” (if you have Pro) and it will remove any color in the background. If you’re designing a white only text, sometimes, you need to use a black or other color background so you can see what you typed; then make sure to save w/ transparent bg 😊

This is a good interview, I looked at printful for the print on demand tshirt the lowest price for a tshirt was 11.95 white and black tshirt only 3.99 shipping total of about 16.00 not counting the Etsy fees after each sell around 18.00 in total what would be a ideal price to list on Etsy to make at least 2 dollars profit from each sold tshirt with so many tshirts being sold for 14.99 and free shipping on Etsy

Hi there! Thanks so much for enjoying the video! There are quite a few different and good strategies on pricing! My first four months I listed items at just about a two dollar profit. Then I raised listing one dollar each time they sold. I want to pretty much get everything to about 24.99 but I haven't had the courage to quite do it yet. When you figure out your pricing work in a bout 10.5% for Etsy fees.
