The genuine pain on his face when he saw her pack was so heartbreaking. Its clear that between them finding her things up top and then her pack below, he immediately knew she was almost certainly dead from falling. So sad. If I was ever lost, I'd want this man looking for me. Not only because he is so damn good at it, but also because I know he has compassion and a huge heart.

The pain he is experiencing is excruciating and I feel that too…I can’t help but cry at each and every video I watch….it’s really gives you a different perspective of emergency services like this because we all watch and hear about police ambulance and fire services but never mountain rescues which are so different and so much more dangerous and treacherous. I truly appreciate SAR much more now I have more knowledge of their impossible job ❤️

You can follow a river down from a distance but never get into the river bed as that is where cliffs hide/waterfalls hide. Find a safe place to access water if possible. Rainstorms dangerous too. Amazing how water flows can rise very quickly.

About 10 years ago: My father is an experienced hiker...slipped and fell 50ft...landed on a tree and broke his leg...luckily their was a crew of firefighters training in the area...carried him 2 miles back down from Robin's Roost in Mt. Charleston, Nevada. It really only takes one slip. My condolences to the family.

yes 1 slip I was walking the sunshine trail in south dakota one winter, and the ice was so so heavy even had my springs on. Well I fuckingslipped started barreling towards the bottom of this hill just digging my fingers into the slush stopping my self. My lady friend, and her bf was there. She helped me back up then we got to our climbing spot, and i was removing my boot, and it literally flew right on off dropped 200ft below back down, so she went down , and grabbed it for me. I was new to mountain hikinh at that time. I wanna work for SAR so bad!

My dad was a skilled mountaineer. He was in a car accident and paralyzed from the chest down, still he went, always solo. After his accident he came out of the coma and had full blown paranoid schizophrenia, he didn't like being around anyone after that. In the Ozarks, he fell 60 feet off a sheer rock face. He climbed back up, using only his hands, but couldn't get out once he made it back up. He died of his injuries out there, it took 3 months to find him. Thanks so much for what you do. It means a lot to the families of the lost when they are finally found.

I had a similar experience up Mt Fuji. We made it to a resting lodge and woke up at 2 am to hit the summit. Stepping outside there was cloud coverage and it was raining. The hikers in front of me took off and I started walking behind them, when I suddenly realized I couldnt see 5 feet in front of me. I turned around and saw the light bulb of the lodge like a beacon beckoning me to return. At that precise moment I turned around and headed back. Turned out a huge storm hit the mountain and we had to descend the next morning on the opposite side of Fuji down slippery black ash, no trail...scary stuff.

@@Xtoffer87 🤷‍♀️ I don't questions his reasons, but I'm sure he has a good one. Maybe it was time for him to meet his maker. Why would someone that has never hiked to the extremes wasn't well prepared with clothes, shoes, maps, food or little to no experience and not tell anyone or share his plans 🤷‍♀️, why would you think all would be good. Sometimes we make mistakes that get us in trouble... we are humans with free will and this young man exercised his and unfortunately it cost him his life. We can't blame GOD for everything bad that happens to us, had he been prepared with everything needed for survival and had the experience needed, he would have made it back home, even if he had gotten lost, he would have been prepared to still find his way home or to have been found alive. This video let us see good and kindness still exist thru the act of the search too.. That nature is beautiful and a glimpse of its beauty for the many that can not hike. I recently went on my first multi-day hike on the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island. Luckily, we had exceptionally good weather but it was still quite brutal. My group had been lucky considering how many people we saw stagger into the campsites battered, bruised and with joints taped and so many bears we came across. Thankfully we gave ourselves plenty of time and had a steady but safe pace. The experience really put into our minds just how dangerous hiking can be even on well worn routes, I can't even imagine how difficult it is for you to find these people. Keep it up and stay safe!

I almost tried that trail when I was about 30 years ago with little information about it. Just was taking a group of friends on a hiking trip and it sounded good. We had basically no experience in wet or less than perfect conditions. Sounds challenging from your account. Luckily we chose a trail up some mountain to a place called Forbidden Plateau more in the interior of the island. No issues. Didn’t even think about bears.

So sad seeing her friends retrieve her bag. From your reaction, you just know this has turned into a recovery mission and not a rescue mission.

Na tento kanal jsem narazila úplně náhodou a celou dobu jsem si podle výrazů a přízvuků říkala že ta čeština tam někde bude 🥰🥰 Jinak dobrá práce i když se smutným koncem.

The breathtaking beauty of nature and terrain is often unforgiving. RIP. You and your team are doing God's work and finding needles in haystacks. You understand and share the hikers' passion. Your pain is palpable. The music is beautiful and appropriate. Sigh. 🙏🏻🕊

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING FOR THESE THINGS YOU DO!! I can't thank you enough! I cannot even begin to imagine the pain that overcomes you each and everytime you locate someone. You have a heart of GOLD AND ARE A COMPLETE ANGEL AND HERO in my eyes!! I do have a favor to ask you! I must be a really SLOW READER!! Is there any possible way you'd be willing to leave your words on the screen a little longer?? Even 2 or 3 seconds would make a world of difference for me! I have to rewind every single time!! LOL!! Thank you again for ALL YOU DO!!

The work you do is so unbelievably important and YOU sir are a Master of your trade. 👏👏👏. It’s so sad in most cases; however even finding a loved one who has passed gives the family SOOO much relief that it was only an accident and that nothing sinister happened. It’s important to know your loved one died doing what they loved. And you are a hero and an incredible SUPER HERO ❤❤❤❤❤

I hike The Appalachian Trail where people also die but apparently not as regularly as in the mountains of Taiwan. Your navigation skills on Taiwan’s almost unmarked trails are excellent. I noted lots of water crossings where a hiker’s feet 👣 get screwed up because of all the moisture.

My heart is breaking so bad watching the pain on this guys face and the tragic reality that is faced when hiking in inhospitable mountains. Honestly I don’t know if I can carry on watching…..so so sad…I pray for all the people who have lost their lives and I pray for this wonderful unsung hero that is SAR. God bless you all ❤️

One thing I learn from these videos. If you go hiking, go with a group of at least 3 people. Don't go alone. Two people also might make thing worse while trying to save each other - 3rd person is an anchor. At least chance to survive accidents and someone not doing a stupid thing if something happens.

A decade ago, I went on a short hiking trail with a group of 8 people, we still got lost. Luckily, we back tracked and found another group of hikers helped us found our way back.
@Nagarath16
@Nagarath16 Год назад
@@michellengo3352 So? I didn't mean that a lot of people don't get lost. They're just less likely die while getting lost because 2 friends trying to save each other is the stupid thing to do. They will most likely end up doing something that makes both of them to be badly injured or death instead just one.
