@@pattyp2093 As a French Guy "Comment tu t'appelles ?" and "Comment t'appelles tu ?" are correct ! in french, sometimes we inverse pronouns for give a sustained language (Idk if it's say like that) but a language more polite

Merde is a pretty name It just has a bad meaning, I don’t get why people make fun of her it’s not her fault it’s her name. Instead of making fun of her they should get to know her, I’m sure she’s really nice and sweet.

I dated a French-Canadian in high-school and took a French class. I can confirm that "merde" does mean "$h!t." You did pronounce it correctly; it sounds like "mared"--the name of a female horse with a "D" at the end.
