Growing puppy girl, Hera is single and looking for a forever home!
The sweet puppy that we almost passed up because she didn’t look spaniel enough . . . thank dawg we gave her another chance to join Camp Cocker Rescue.
We are guessing she might be a thirty pound-ish dog when she is fully grown? She is sweet as can be. She is eager to please and is dog friendly (when introduced off leash in a safe enclosed area), cat friendly and people friendly.
We recently learned that she is leash reactive to other dogs, especially large breed dogs.
She is also super mouthy like a puppy would be who left their littermates too early.
She needs adopters who are 100% enthusiastic about working with a force free dog trainer. “Balanced” trainers or those that use “whisperer” methods of alpha and dominance will only make a sensitive dog like a spaniel feel more insecure.
Force free all the way, it takes more work but the results will be lasting and bring Hera and her future adopter (s) closer because the relationship will be formed through trust.
She may not be all cocker spaniel but she is such a nice dog, that we know she is going to be a lovely dog for some future adopters.

Hera just tried out a potential home but she isn’t a good match for a home with small children because of her mouthy play style and sharp teeth.
