I was just ten years old when i first heard this song. I am now 65 and do so enjoy the gentle nature of this song.. the Good .things just do not change. Carol in Seattle.
This song gets me every-time when I hear this. Such a beautiful love song. I was born in 1968 and my Mom no doubt heard this song on the radio and maybe even watched this very broadcast. I wonder if this song comforted her and made her smile while she was carrying me. She was 23 in 1968 and passed away in 2000. I love you Mom.
@all.day.day-dreamer. I I am sorry for the loss of your mother. I was 15 in '68 when Herb Alpert released it. This song touched me deeply in that tumultuous year.
I was 12 years old when this was in the English charts. I loved it then and, 55 years later, I still do. I always thought there was a little sadness in the song.
My dad introduced me into Burt Bacharach music many years ago and ive loved it ever since but this is my song to my gorgeous, beautiful wife.❤ Can I also add its Hal David too.x
Man, talk about getting me nostalgic. I wish I could go back in time & do it all again. The only thing I would change is never picking up a cigarette, otherwise, I would stick to the original script. Thanks, Mr. Alpert. I love your music.
It's a bookmark of your life. The new experiences, thoughts and feelings of youth that can never be repeated or experienced again. Excuse me now while I shoot myself. :(
No million dollar special effects, no half naked women dancing,....just a musical genius sitting on a big "H" playing a trumpet and singing one of the most beautiful songs ever written....

This is the very first song i remember from listening to the radio, i was 6 years old snd we were camping that summer, we lived in Atkinson NH at that time. My parents had The Whip Cream Girl album as I called it...
ESSA é uma das minhas músicas internacionais preferida! Herbert Alpert faz uma interpretação exuberante. Também gosto muito da interpretação do Johnny Mathis. Sensacional mesmo!
I was 18-years-old when this song was released. To me, I felt it sounded like a guy like me who was singing from his heart - NO TUNER, but the REAL voice of a guy who is singing to the woman he's falling in love with hoping she will love him too.
@@katherine9109 British dj and radio presenter for 40 years recently deceased, had a Sunday morning show called love songs, upwards of 4 million listeners every week
I remember this song playing on the radio in 68 and I didn't know anything about who composed it or sung it but I enjoyed it none the less. I was only 5. Wonderful how music can take you back.
Great song! The video is from "Make Your Own Kind of Music" - an 8-part NBC mid-Summer variety series. This was the first episode, airing July 20, 1971. The Carpenters starred in all 8 episodes (Karen is visible on the left applauding at the beginning). It was Herb who helped launch The Carpenters to superstardom after he signed them to his A&M label in 1969.
Hermosísima canción te transporta a una bella sensación de amor y relajación, además este hombre se ve hermoso y actualmente vive, yo tengo 65 años el andará por los 90, ❤❤❤❤
this song came out the year I was born 1968 and it reached number seven on the charts for the year. Always remember my dad playing Herb Alpert on the record player. Good stuff.
