Hi, thank you so much for this video. I have been drinking so much ginger tea it’s crazy! LOL. I am about one month pregnant and the nausea is horrible and I’ve always heard that Ginger helps with that. However, the taste is getting annoying so I am switching over to peppermint. Interestingly, during my last pregnancy, I could have sworn I read something that recommended I steer clear of peppermint tea during pregnancy. Would you happen to have links to the research data you referenced in this video that supports the claims you’ve made? I’d love to delve further into this. Again, thank you. Thanks so much for your kind feedback 💜. Unfortunately there’s not a lot of research on nettle tea and the little that is available is controversial. Some research suggests it may increase the risk of miscarriage. Ideally I’d recommend avoiding it during pregnancy until more research is available.
Bottomline, very little research has been done on safety of herbs on pregnancy and lactation. Sucks, though. Rather focus on healthy eating focusing on green leafy veggies, taking the best quality supplements, exercise and meditation.
I used to drink spearmint tea for PCOS and it really helped reduce my facial hair growth. I am pregnant now and am wondering if I am still able to drink it. Do you know anything about spearmint tea in pregnancy?

Just had some cold brew watermelon, cucumber and mint tea.. it was the only thing in the cabinet that I can stomach. BUT it has rooibos, hibiscus, ashwaganda and licorice ..... wah, having slight cramping now. First time in the first 8 weeks just now. I'll let ya know how it turns out.
I love hibiscus tea but I miscarried in my last pregnancy and think it was linked to consuming it. I hadn't drank the tea before pregnancy and after the miscarriage I found out the tea is linked to early/1st trimester miscarriages. I lost baby at 8.5 weeks.

There is some caution surrounding Throat Coat Tea and Red Raspberry tea. To be safe, it is recommended to limit the consumption of Throat Coat tea and it is suggested to consume Red Raspberry tea after the first trimester :)

I haven't seen any research on lemongrass tea specifically. However, many herbal teas do impact iron absorption, so if you have anemia, I'd limit herbal teas as much as possible.

Where are these studies from? Where are your references? Ginger tea? Studies show that large doses can cause a small head circumference??? How much ginger tea causes that? What type of women, what else have they consumed during their pregnancy, how many pregnant women were involved in this study? Your information is vague and it could potentially scare women into not drinking something that is beneficial to them.

I drink this coz i have this little very small problem of getting 1 3 bumps itchy on my skin and from the day i started drinking it helped me a lot. So what's your advice, what should i do? I'm not sure how it would help the bumps on your skin. Maybe try weaning yourself off it and see what happens to the bumps. For example, try taking it every second day.
Generally mee not fond of caffeine or tea but I take a mixture of ginger,cloves,cinnamon,bay leaves,sugarcane candy in it for sweetness and oll mixed with water and boiled for 5-10 mins, yesterday I got my pregnancy test done and its positive so is it safe to consume this herbal mixed water?? No, not necessarily. One of the main things to be cautious of the caffeine content in teas. If you are referring to iced teas, it is best to consume these in moderation as they re mostly very high in sugar.

Both should be consumed in moderation as jasmine tea can sometimes contain caffeine. In total it is recommended to have 1-2 cups of herbal tea per day.

It depends on how much you are consuming. Ginger tea can help relieve nausea, however I won't suggest consuming lots of it as there have been studies that suggest ginger tea may result in shorter length of gestation and a reduced infant head circumference. Best to check exact amounts with your prenatal dietitian.
