Not without a lot more modification, at least. 600HP nearly stock is a lot for the street. Sure, You could get bigger superchargers, injectors, better heads, etc - but then you're looking at all forged internals, and possibly even a different block to handle it - and a lot of work too.
I was here from the e55. She will be missed. Somebody is going to be a happy man. If I lived closer I would have it in a heartbeat. Yes to the Volvo. Would love to see that. They can make some serious power.
Hey Alex, thanks for getting another AMG. That's what attracted me to your channel. Videos on all the other cars are okay, but AMG is the reason I tune in.
I would mount a giant turbo to the CDI with direct diesel injection, I recently learned a lot about diesel and if you add more fuel and air (which is easy) you will make more power. Or I will do it as a collaboration, no guarantees that it doesn't blow, but it will smoke the tires !!!
Alex, I want to thank you for bringing the E55 on the channel. It's been my dream car since I was 12 and I remember going through the ads as a kid looking for E500's and thinking to myself "I can't wait to own this car!" Then I found the E55. What a beauty. Coming from a Ford family, nobody thought this would ever be a good idea due to the typical stereotypes of german cars. I looked everywhere online to see the maintenance that would needed to be done from every aspect. and it was just not there! Not until you came in and showed all of us that they are designed to be worked on, not just by mechanics: but by everyday people with a drive and a bit of elbow grease. I've been here since you purchased it and before and want to thank you for all the help and advice you've given to us along the way. You are certainly a teacher and it has been a pleasure. For the group of people that enjoy working on our own vehicles, a car has never been just a car. they have a very special place in our heart that kind of brings us back to the "good days." I'm only 20, but I certainly understand. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect E55 but perhaps that will come to an end soon. I hope the best for you and bigger and better things are to come, we will all be here along the way Alex! :)
You have to buy the Volvo 740 Turbo!!! You can do a ton of upgrades on that engine for very little money. Lookt like that seven series was in perfect condition!
Checking in for the first time in maybe a year. Good to see your channel has taken off like crazy! The E 55 is like the mascot of the Legit Street Cars channel, sad to know it will be leaving. Knowing how much work and love you've put in it, it will be a wonderful car for somebody. Looking forward to seeing your new projects. Cheers and best wishes.
One of those black Porsche 928 models may be worth a careful look. There are many interesting mods to be done on those. If you don't end up with it, I'd certainly bid on it and share mod videos and stories with you.
Completely agree with the masses. E55 is what pushed me into buying the one I have now. Every time I got the notification, I hoped it would be another E55 drag strip or race or soundcheck or talking about why it's still an amazing car. I'll miss it.
I definitely found this channel through the E55 , because I have a W211 E Class and was looking for ways to love the car again by modifying it , and this channel did that .
I have been watching this channel for quite some time and never realized. until today, how many cars Alex owned. Sad to hear the e55 and the M5 will leave or have already left the stable and excited to see the next cars that will join. As usual, great video. Always a pleasure to do "window-shopping" in warehouses with so many interesting cars.
Like most, the E55 was the car that made me subscribe to this channel. IMO, Alex has one of the top 3 youtube car channels. Plenty of cars to make more content. More Bimmer or Audi content would be nice. Either way we look forward to your next projects!
Bitter Sweet. Sad to see the E55 go, releaved you're keeping the C63. Your content convinced me I could own a Mercedes and afford diy repairs. Now I own a W205 C400 and W204 C63 AMG. Sure, I'll probably have to replace cams, lifters, and timing chain tensioners but I'm a gear head so look forward to it. Love your channel man. Also, love the Volvo for some reason. And one more thing, the Volt. The number of car guys on RU-vid who have personally owned a Volt is wild. I've owned one, loved the thing.
Flying to LA on 4/16 to pick up my new (to me) 2005 S55 AMG and driving it back to Wichita,KS. Thanks for the memories of your E55 and it’s part of the reason I’m getting the S55 as my midlife crisis present to myself
It's bittersweet to see you sell your cars, but it's all about the journey, and not the destination of the finished car(s) sitting in a garage or a warehouse. After you sell some of these cars, I'll be looking forward to the cars you buy, and how you fix them up and modify them. I always like to see what new car project you have planned. I've learned a lot from you, and I really enjoy seeing you grow and succeed with your RU-vid channel and your cars.
@legitstreetcars sad to see the e55 go 😔 was the reason I found your Chanel. Fun fact, I sold my W211 2weeks ago also. Traded it into a C207 from 2015. I’ll keep watching you for new Mercedes content ❤️❤️
Selling E39 to buy E60, always ends up this way. These cars are from completely different universes from all the aspects. No wonder he wanted his baby back.
The E55 brought me here and encouraged me to buy a Mercedes, a 400 hp c400 that is just the perfect daily. That S65 a few weeks back was incredible! No to the Volvo, but am excited for the c63, caprice, cdi, and future content
I would LOVE to see any content you may be able to film on the 928’s in the warehouse!!!!!! And the G-Wagen’s, and the Rolls. That being said, I’m sad to see you getting rid of the E55. If I hadn’t have just bought a new Tesla, I would be biting you arm off right now for the E55! Love your work, man!
really cool how you sold those cars back to original owners and enthusiasts. this is a great channel but maybe needs some chicago style hotdog content(love those things)
I wonder how many peoiple bought an E55 because of you. I know I seriously looked into it lol. I don't watch much youtube but great to see the growth of your channel since I watched your first video.
thanks for the update i was wondering about the BMW that was such a nice car and what made it more interesting was the fact that it had very high miles!
I have a 2008 CL600 that would be a great build for the channel. Turbo upgrade, valve body upgrade 5SPD transmission, rear differential upgrade CL65. Excellent content for the channel.
Starting seeing your channel for precisely that beautiful E 55 AMG. As a matter of fact I almost purchased one here in Europe because of your great content! We will definitely miss that great German bullet train and hope the future buyer we appreciate it! How about some Porsches for potential projects?? 928s? 911s...or even Panameras?
I subbed because of the e55 so sad to see it go but you have to do what you have to do which is move on hopefully it's next owner will take as much care of it as you have Alex. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Well Alex, I am really surprised. Didn't expect that you will actually make projects and after finishing them sell them just like that. Respect for not being one of those guys who keep everything forever and not finishing anything. Even though it hurts to see E55 go..
I do not own a Mercedes and never have, but it was the e55 that made me click on the first video I watched, and due to your honesty and personality, ive stayed 😀
PLEASE dont sell the E55! That's my favorite build of all time of yours. That car is literally the significance of this channel. Sell the entire fleet (minus the C63 and WS6) but keep that one! :(
I bought an e55 thanks to you and your build. Nothing but respect for the channel and your beautiful car. I hate to say it but you are going to regret selling it 5 years from now.
Alex, I remember meeting you at Cartoberfest this past year and you saying you'd never be able to sell the E55. Crazy that she's going! I hope whatever you get next will be as legendary as that car!
Damn. I get your reasons for sure. But, not gonna lie, bummed the E55 AND the CDI going!! I 100% bought my CDI because of this channel. For that, I thank you cause I'm still loving it! Looking forward to future YT projects ahead.
Great video as always, Alex! We follow you for You first and foremost. And to my fellow viewers posting about not selling the E55 - relax, Alex has amg cars, he will create better, new content with other cars maybe as memorable as The one and you and him will forever have nice memories of his EPIC E55 AMG!
Selling the E55 has to be hard for you. I think I like that car just as much as you do. I am a big fan of Mercedes Benz, especially AMG’s. I am always researching Mercedes Benz videos. Your E55 was the reason I subscribed to your channel. I will definitely remain a subscriber because of all your knowledge and your other projects.
That E55 was the reason i fell in love with the m113k and one of the reasons I became interested in tuning. Hoping to get an s55 amg soon just getting my eggs together
Alex, PLEASE, some of us who came to your channel because of the E55, and are not on social media, would also LOVE a chance to bid on it. Please post when and where you'll post it here on utube as well
NOT THE E55, only reason I subbed, you could buy every other amg and I promise it won't impress me as much as this beautiful clean build. I will miss it sorely im sure you will too of course. I am excited to see what you get, its just bitter sweet. my favorite euro chassis and top 5 overall chassis ever.
wish I could buy, Im hesitating to take out a loan. I would appreciate this car and cherish it. I drive a clk350 base, was considering buying a clk63 but id much prefer the E55 I just expect it to go for a lot cause its so well maintained and documented
So many people saying don’t sell the E55. It’s going to be the one that you will say that you wish you never sold it. We love it as much as you. I feel ya about it being bitter sweet. I just bought a Porsche 944, you being a great You Tuber it would be my request. Just throwing it out... I also have a 1.8 t awp VW wagon and thinking about engine swapping into the Porsche. Veil Gluck.🇩🇪
One last comment - I’d suggest that many of us live vicariously through your auto exploits and travels - thus, IMHO, I’d be very interested in viewing a walk-through of garages wherein there is a virtual automobile smorgasbord of types, models and trim levels....
Hi there. If I'm not wrong, the red G-Wagon might be the Austrian version made for utility/government use. Same chassis and body the very first Merc G-Wagon had without the options and the Merc dashboard. I think they came with a 4 cylinder diesel, but couldn't tell from the video what engine this one had. Would be a cool project car and a good show car if you're into offroading mods.
